Hopefully you didn't race with your girlfriend in the car - let's hope you were smart enough to leave her on the curb although from the sound of it you focked that away too.

yes, That was a stupid thing to do, I know. But what i meant was, rather than put myself and my girlfriend in further pointless risk, I decided to back off.

At least you realize you made a mistake and it sounds like you learned from it - good on you - it's better you figure it out for yourself this way than through a ticket, or worse, and accident.

Enjoy your car but be safe out there.

Hey man, don't sweat it. You've got plenty of time to learn. While manual itself isn't all that hard to learn, its one of those things that is somewhat easy to learn, tough to master. Two of my other cars are manuals, and I'll even admit I'm not the most perfect shifter.

There is a purple TransAM (very similar) that is alllll hooked up and he blows people the ***** away at the races in Philly with 3 people in his car...its tough to beat a LS1 with some mods (prally flowmaster + intake etc)...those things are built for straight line performance and have monster engines...

But if he had the option of his POS Camaro or your G35, hed prally take the G...most people would...

Happy Shifting

most of you either dont know much about cars, or are just ignorant about domestics. An LS1 manual trans am or camero is easily a low 13 second car - stock. They weigh about 3400 lbs, are underrated at 305 HP, 320 if it is a WS6 or SS. They dyno at around 320 to the wheels stock with just as much torque. My GTO dynoed at 300 to the wheels, but it has an auto and IRS, both of which suck up more power than the manual and live axel in the F-body's. I am suprised he didnt beat you by more than 6 cars since his car is a second faster than you stock for stock. If you go to the track and get beat by a second in the quarter, it is more than 6 carlenghths. Even an auto would have smokedyou. The turbo and S/C G's are mostly running mid-low 13's, so even most of those would have gotten beat, although it would be alot closer.

I know I wouldnt race one in my G.

I went to the cape last week with my girl some punk *** daddys boy in a yellow z28 pulled up next to me talking ****. I wanted to have some fun so I ran my mouth too told him my rims cost more than his car. He kept running his mouth I jumped out and whopped his *** and his boys my girl jumped out and fought too. I'm not going to race and risk hurting someone innocent like a child I'd rather jump out and hurt the retard thats challeging me.

You're right. Better to physically assault him.

What are you talking about? Do you buy your oxy online? I've owned domestic all of my life. Switched to an import to try to get away from having to open the hood every day. And no that's not to upgrade.

He took me from a launch (he had aftermarket wheels/tires), i spun through most of first gear, and he was already a car length ahead of me. I was floored through first, second, third and he kept gaining ground on me. When i hit 90 mph he was at least 6 car lengths in front of me, so i just backed off rather than be stupid and risk hurting myself, my g, or someone else.

I didnt see you mention whether or not you turned VDC off. If you didnt and you were spinning the tires in 1st you just lost alot of power and time.
