I'm thinking of purchasing a new G35C, however I've read stories about the driver seat problems. I did a search to see if there was any "cure" or "treatment" to it, but all I found was comments of going to the Chiropractor, selling the vehicle, etc etc.

Does anybody have any advice on what to do, regarding the seat?

what specifically are you referring to? There's been known problems w/ the seat belt chokin' people out...

Sorry for not being specific. However, the seat controls cause pain in the thighs of the driver, "feels like a shooting pain" - as one driver stated...

I haven't taken a long trip yet, which seems to be the key, but I can see how the switch-plate doesn't allow the cushion to fold out of the way more. But then again, both sides of my thigh bolsters are a bit on the narrow side. No real complaints around town, but I'm sure they'll come eventually with extended miles.

I though about just having the seats re-contured in those areas if it was a big problem. I'm not so sure anymore that there is much space to work with in there, due to the metal frame in the thigh bolster area.

I would bet that a lot of the seat problems are actually related to the G35's suspension and 19" rims. In other words if you are driving a car with a suspension system designed for comfort rather than performance, it's not difficult to get comfortable seats. Since most of my driving in the last two years was in a Porsche 996, the G35 feels like a luxury car to me.

Do not recall anybody complaining about the seat, plenty of people complaining about the seat belt though. I am one of them. I have taken my car to plenty of long distance drive, 4-5 hours each way and experience no pain from the seat. My neck just about to be sawed of by the seat belt though.

yeah. for long drive, it kinda hurts legs. so, just drive fast and get there fast.

At 6'-6" and 215 lbs. I find no problems with the seats...my thigh is well away from the switches and can't imagine how big my *** would have to be to crowd them..After reading these threads for the life of me I can't seem to understand the problem...

there is also a mod somewhere on the boards that will let you decrease the seat height by around 1/2 - 3/4" for you tall ppl...

There have been posts from folks complaining about the seats hurting their back, but I have no problems with mine - even after a 2500 trip. I think they are very comfortable and a multitude of adjustments.

yeah i think the seats are great, comfortable and very soft.

I agree to the point, but many, perhaps most complaints were on the 03-04's without 19"s.

Are the seats really the differentiator in the cars you're considering? The comfort potential of the seat is reduced by the goal of increased "Road feel." Thus, less padding and less adaptability to varying body frames. This is why you find people that say it fits perfectly and others who dramatize their discomfort with claims of medical treatment. Your satisfaction will depend on how well you fit in the seat. I don't mean fat, skinny, tall, short, etc... But torso/leg proportions, forward reach, etc... Not trying to be technical, just go sit in the driver's seat of the car.

Supposedly the 05's are a bit better due to the telescoping steering wheel. In my 04, it's hard to find a recline angle/pan angle/retract dist./wheel angle combination that stays comfortable. After a year, I change it on average about once a week. No complaints, just dealing with it and enjoying the myriad of redeeming qualities.

My seat feels perfect, I drive 1 hour every week to see my GF and havent had any back or leg problems yet, and I DO have a bad back but it only comes when I play alot of basketball.

The seats how ever are very comfortable to sit in
