its my 10th day with my coupe and i hit a 1000 miles today of which 990 are mine. Cant wait to hit the 1200 mark so i can really feel whats under the hood. the owners manual says break in is till 1200 miles but i read on one of the posts that 1500 miles is better. is this true?

Also what do you guys use to take care of the leather seats? and how often?

To my mind 1200 miles is a minimum and not the point you should go out and start racing. I personally think it takes much longer to fully break in an engine.
On the other hand to make an engine work is good for it. It helps keep it clean and healthy and in tune. Periodically going to redline is fine.

I use Zaino Z-9 Soft spray cleaner, and Z-10 Treatment and Conditioner on my leather seats monthly. There's prolly many suggestions all of which you can find in our Detail Shop.

Your fuel economy seems to be good! It appears that you have 1/4 left in the tank and 289 miles - aprox. 21-24 mpg. My fuel light comes on at 16.4 gallons used (or fill up) and the needle is a tad above the empty line. Nice steady driving???

what if we didnt do the break in .. what's gonna happen.

 

i put 100 miles a day on my car after i got it
its supposed to be 6000 though before our engine is truly broken in.

LoL I had my car broken in in 4 days! then again I have over 5500 miles in 5 weeks. I do drive a lot! Guess thats what I get for doing sales on the road. Oh well
