i raced a 03' rsx type-s before and we were both climbing uphill. back then i was stock and i was able to look to my left and see his front bumper. i have an AT so the guy with the type-s just probably didn't know how to drive

i previously owned an 02 Acura RSX Type S before my G and i must say... my RSX was faster...

then again i had Injen CAI, Borla Exhaust, Jackson Racing Race Headers, Type R Intake Manifold, Type R Cams, Hondata Type R Reflash, Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket. and a built suspension.

With that setup i was running 13.7s. So my G35 seems faster cuz the torque. but the high end is nothing compared to my RSX. then again... my G is stock still...

so i cant wait to get this thing faster than my rsx.

Haha, that's funny. I just joined this site because I just got rid of my '03 RSX-s and am moving on to the G also. RSX was cool but small and to whiny. Maybe it's because I'm getting older but I want the torque and the deep tone of that G's exhaust. Besides you can't put some phatty 10.5's on the back of an RSX w/o a major widebody kit. haha My experience with G's while in my RSX is I could pretty much keep up with em. Only problem was spinning in 1st gear. The innevitable front wheel drive problem. I had AEM CAI and Hondata #4 as far as engine mods. Like I said, the RSX was cool but the G is the way to go. Good luck with your G mods.

What the hell? Even though the horsepower is substancially lower on the Type S, the weight is as well, but even so, a G35 should wreck a type S no problem unless you are in a 6MT and can't shift or the other one has mods. Keep in mind that those cars have mods that are cheaper and more beneficial in comparison to more expensive and less beneficial mods we can do.

I just chalked it up to the fact that the other guy probably couldn't drive worth a sh... I mean, c'mon, I've driven the g and it sure seems a lot faster. But like was said previously, once you get to top end the RSX pulls pretty hard. With Hondata #4 you're basically in VTEC all the time if you shift it right. No blows on the G though. I wouldn't have sold my RSX for one if I didn't like it. I just can't wait to start my DIY's.

Nah~, those cars are pretty fast. VTEC engines are nothing like a VQ engines. VQ are not made to race like VTECs (strictly DOHCs). G is faster than Type-S, but pretty even or slower than Type-R from Japan. It's not all about HP, Torque and weight. It's all about right setting for the entire car. In terms of that, RSX Type-S have great gear ratio to match its VTEC engine so that the VTEC would not get cut off. S2000 is a good example.

RSX=road kill in these parts.....If you have trouble with one.....either you or your car is out of tune....or a combination of both.

Cool sites with realworld 1/4 mile times of most cars

Check out these sites with realworld 1/4 mile times. The 1st link is from real racetrack times with mods listed (This is cool). The 2nd link is mostly from magazines or 'accurate' sources they say.

http://www.dragtimes.com/
http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

Enjoy

DC5 are too slow..... even Type R wont have much chance in a straight line.
hell, even the average driver in a S2000 cant even come close to us....

by the time these cars hit VTEC in first, we would be pulling away in 2nd gear.

hey, im new to the boards and currently a 05 rsx-s owner.... i raced (from a roll) a white g35 not sure if it was auto or manual but i actually pulled off him in 3rd... the guy gave up as i got a car length.... anywayz i think the g35 is GORGEOUS , omg!!! but i have two options, to turbo my 05-rsx-s and it would own all g35's without f.i , or buy a g35 and get owned by my turboed rsx buddys. any

EDIT: i had 2 performance mods: race header and cai
