Anybody race an RSX type S 05 yet?

Yeah, but in the G you'd look good. LOL j/k man, no hard feelings. I had the RSX too. I'm just tired of doing tons of mods for a little bit of HP. I went through my whole RSX but was never satisfied with it. I guess maybe i'm just looking for more torque and low end power. I hated having to be above 5200 to get any response. I wanted power now, not after the turbo lag. Besides, here in CA they're crackin down as the other guys are talking about. With the G you can put some wheels/tires on and maybe a stereo and you're good to go without putting $6k into a bunch of stuff that will drop the value of your car.

My buddy has an 03 type-s and from a dead stop we stayed side by side up until 50-55...but then I started pulling away. Now he has a custom turbo kit (only10psi) and full stand alone engine management, needless to say he now blisters my a$$ (I'm stock 5AT). He is lighter, now has way more horsepower, and that damn engine revs to like 7800 rpms. That little car is a force to be recon with... untuned he ran like a 13.8 or something...he is expected to be in the mid 12's once he is tuned and gets lsd.

Haven't any of you seen the Best Motoring video race? The race included the following cars: S2000, G35 6MT, WRX, RSX Type-S, Rx-8, and Miata (all stock). Tha cars were on the startup line in reverse order of their Torque and the 5 lap race finished in the above order. The G35 passed them all except the S2000. Both the S2000 and the G35 finished the race significantly ahead of the others...

actually i think some of you guys are forgetting that the new 05 rsx-s has a slightly different engine than the previous rsx-s's. they have new gear ratios, new final drive, etc. totally different beast than the old ones. that being said, i would say it's purely a driver's race..given equal drivers that is. i don't doubt some of you beating them, but driver difference does have an effect. those suckers are fast.

many of u are underlooking the rsx-s..or jsut honda overall. i understand cuz the lack of torq on all honda cars..but dont sleep on them. they can be much faster (stock) than u think..with some mods..they can be crazy!
i wouldnt doubt that stock to stock, g35 should pull on the rsx-s..but it coudl still be a drivers' race. with a few mods that others have listed, the rsx-s can really hang or even pull on a g35 stock ...sure u can talk bout both having equal mods and whatnot, but the things is g35 get nothin out of its mods unless its FI.. and on top of that, rsx-s is alot cheaper to buy in the first place.. just like some peeps say i can mod my G to make it faster than a stock M3 and still be cheaper. well, the same can be said bout the rsx-s.. but still, the G35 is still overall a better car (power, looks, low end torq, RWD..etc..). i just understand why some of ya bash on the hondas all the time.
im a honda fan as much as a nissan fan. they both make great cars in diff areas.
just like many thinks s2k is slow..but many have proved that if driven properly, it could be faster than a G35 and equal with a Z. the same can be said bout rsx-s.
those who said the hondas are slow..either u never dirven them, or u just dont no how to!
its easier to drive a car fast with good low-end torq than driving one with high power, hi rpm, but low torq <-- it takes alot more skills.

couldn't have put it better myself. i love the g..wanted to get one..but ended up getting a cl-s cuz at the time g's were pretty expensive..it's interesting how most of you say you will murder any acura..but i've raced several G's on the highway, and believe it or not they couldn't pull on me from 50+ or 80+..though obviously as soon as i hit 115 mph they will start pulling given the cl's ****ty *** overdrive..but please, G's will not murder 05 rsx-s's or cl-s's.

Hey, i actually did last week against my friend in a white rsx-s with injen v2 intake. We went from a roll, about 30mph, btw i have a 2004 AT5spd. I started in 2nd gear with tiptronic, and instantly he started to pull about 1/2 car length. After in 3rd, i started to creep up, and while deep into fourth, i was able to pass him.

I sold my 2003 RSX-S and purchased a 2005 G35 6MT about three months ago.
I liked almost everything about my RSX... It was very quick if you were flat out racing and keeping the revs up to stay in the VTEC range... unfortunately, it didn't have much low speed torque, so it didn't do well in normal day-to-day driving situations... something the G35 6MT excels at.
FWD on the RSX was kind of a bummer... I must admit that I never came to grips with front wheel drive. Any time I wanted to start quick, the front wheels would spin...
The RSX was light and nimble... The G35 is heavier with more low speed power... they're different cars, and I liked them both, but I like the G35 better... just my $.02 worth...

I think given 2 drivers that know how to drive, both cars not modded and both cars are performing to 'factory specs' the G is the clear winner.
