question about Valentine 1

I just recently bought a valentine 1 radar detector. I was driving at night and i couldn't see if the radar detector's signal. I was wondering if there was a night mode to the detector or does it just not come with the detector itself. the k, ka, x, l doesn't light up at night which makes it very difficult to see so i have to turn on the car's inner dome light. are all valentine's like this???

Wierd, I have one and it's never done that and I don't know of a night mode. They do have a remote mount / black out. but it dosen't come with them it's optional. Strange.

you should be able to see the lights during the day too are you sure it's on/getting power? so it beeps but it doesn't light up? if so, then there's something wrong wtih your detector. send it back for warranty and get a new one. there's an optional mount you can buy. when plugged in it darkens the detector and lights up the remote mount.

You may have a defect since it should always light up. However, more than looking, hearing is much faster way of determining the band...
