People with Clear Bras.

Hey guys, well its been one month since I got my clear bra and Im starting to get angry.

I just notcied 2 little brown dots on my clear bra and they are not coming off. I tried everything to get them off and it looks like they are either under the clear bra, which is impossible, or something else.

I have no clue wtf is. I know its not bugs because everynight when I come home and park I make sure to wipe all the bugs off the front of the car. These little specs are starting to make me regret the clear bra purchase. so it was either paint chips or brown dots, which ones worse now lol.

Reason why I didn't get clear bra on my silver. it looks pretty hideaous on ip too,
imho as you can clearly see the line when you get the hood done.

i only recommend clearbra on darker colors.

i use it on my other dark blue car.

Are you at all close to, or do you get close to any rail lines? I've heard of this problem on a few occassions and in every case it was rail dust.

If it is rail dust try claying. If that doesn't do it try a mild abrasive polish like Meg's DACP, Poorboys SSR 2.5, Optimum polish, Menzerna's IP or something similar.

It depends on the installer. You'll hear most people say they wouldn't get it on a dark color because it's that much more visible. I personally hate most dealer installed clear bras. The reason why I'm getting a clear bra is a Brilliant Silver coupe I saw at a meet a couple weeks ago. There wasn't a square cm on his bumper that wasn't covered with nicks or chips.

Yea I just wanted to see if anyone has actually gotten the brown spots out with the claybars.

I might have to order one if they dont just go away themselves.

My clear bra on my BS is not visible at all. I just hate these little brown spots they are very annoying.

I'd have a claybar handy regardless. It's always nice to have if you want to take off some surface contamination.

Just pick up the entire Zaino kit, it comes with a clay bar. If not, you can get Mother's at any auto store.

has nothing to do with the installer (unless he completely screwed up).
you'll end up with dark dots instead of the little knicks...which, imo, is
just as bad. if it's a daily driver it's worth a try though. i just drive
3sec behind the car in front. i have very little nicks on mine.

The bigger impacts from rocks...from wat ive found, the damage doesn't
look too obvious while the bra is on...it's until you remove the bra; the
paint is literally cracked and comes off with the bra when you want to
replace the bra with a new one.

at the end, you end up getting the bumper painted anyway...

I guess my DG coupe would qualify as a darker color, but you cannot see the bra at all unless you are 3 feet away, and you can only see the hood line at certain angles from close distance (looking straight down the bra line, ie, looking at the car from the side). No chips for me, except for one right by the grille that happened BEFORE I got the bra.

If you are going to get a bra, do it ASAP after you buy the car. Seriously, one week and you will get chips.
