JMHO....
An oven will heat evenly with no distortion.
A heat gun can overheat an area & cause warping or heat stress

Another trick after you paint the inside is to put the painted part back in the oven for like 10 minutes each to dry the paint. Seemed to really make the paint smooth too. No orange peel affect. Use the oven though, and some mechanix gloves.
