That's a shame if the Senate essentially killed it. I've been lucky myself -- haven't had a front plate on any of my cars for 15 years living in Dallas, Lubbock, Wichita Falls and Arlington, and never got a ticket for it. I did have one cop ask me why I had no front plate after pulling me over for speeding, but he didn't write me up after I told him it was wadded up in a crash and I never replaced it.

Maybe next year indeed.

 

My neighbor who is a Sergeant with the DPS here in Texas said it did not pass and that the front plate would still be required.

 

Well, I haven't had one for at least 10 years. I'm just going to pretend that the bill went ahead and was passed

 

Any updates on this? I just picked up my new G last Saturday and I don't want to install a front plate!!!!!!!!!!!

 

just don't put it on. i heard the bill didn't pass so the front is still required, but i've never been pulled over in my IS. knock on wood

 

I wonder how the corvettes get away it? Never see ONE vette with a front license plate.....seems like the more expensive the car the more leeway they get from the cops
