Question Inifiniti support ????

Alright fellow G35 owners, I Have been surfing the forms on this site since I got my 2005 G35 6mt about 3 months ago. I took my car in for its first oil change and while I was at it I requested the dealer to take a look at several issues. One that I have is that the paint is flaking off the rear brake calipers. Please let me know if I am being too picky, but I just paid 35 grand for a new car and with in 3000 miles the paint is flaking the rear brakes. Now it probably would not be an issue but with the 19” rims the caliper is clearly visible through the wheel and it looks like ****. The Dealer said they looked at other cars and it was happening to them also, so they were willing to do nothing. They told me to call Infiniti @ 1-800-662-6200 and complain to them. So I called Infinity and they basically said too bad we have not herd of this and the dealer makes the call, and we will only do some thing if there is a lot of people complaining about the same issue. So, with that said who else has this issue on their car, and even gives a ****, or am I being too picky and should just get over it. ….see attached pictures

Paint doesn't flake off the Brembos, that's for sure. LOL

Hard to say if you're being too picky without a full pic. I've got an '05 6MT as well, so I understand the view of the calipers that you get with the 19s. But I really wouldn't expect the dealer to do anything about this unless there was a recall or TSB on it. Doesn't seem significant enough to warrant a recall, as it's a problem of cosmetics with a mechanical item that is expected to wear. Personally, I'd take the opportunity to paint your calipers (or have someone do it for you) instead of spending your time pressing the issue. I just don't see you making any headway with the issue in the future. Instead, I'd spend my efforts not only correcting the problem but taking that opportunity to improve upon it.

I guess i can sympathise with the OP. I mean, it's not TOO different than paint flaking off the car after 3 months of ownership.

I think it's real sad to loose the Brembo option (Infiniti now saves more than $2500 per vehicle) and still have to deal with an issue like this when the 05 brakes were to be so much better than before...

I cancelled my 05 when I found out it would not come with Brembo's and would loose 10ft\lbs torque, the 18HP and interior update was just not enough to justify the purchase, 05 owners need to get together and have Infiniti take a look at this issue.

If I were you I would just paint them. Even if the Infiniti dealership re-did your brakes what if it happens again? Save yourself the time and time again problem in getting the dealership to redo them and just paint them. It'll look better anyway!

Think of what color you'd like the calipers to be, then go out and buy caliper paint and be done with it in an afternoon. You won't regret it.
