The only way a G goes from 22 to 27 MPG is downhill with a 120 knot tailwind..
I consistantly get over 21MPG, but have been out of state twice and averaged 27-28 on both trips, and yes, VDC remains off unless the weather is bad.

some RX8 owner also did this and got much better mileage supposedly. I say test it out our selves, theres no harm done in turning it off and test it for a tank and see what happens. I have a feeling that it does work though, perhaps not as dramatic as a 21-27 increase. but i wouldnt be suprised if there is a marginal increase in mpg to make it worth while.

Well..... VDC supposedly only work when slip is detected. When it does work, it stabilizes the car by braking individual wheels and cut engine power. I don't see how driving with VDC off would improve gas milage on day to day basis. The the slip light is not blinking, VDC is the same as not functioning at all.
I still don't understand why many people on the forum insist on driving with the VDC off all the time. In the past 2 years, many accidents could have been avoided had VDC been on at the time. You can always turn it off temporarily when you want to have some fun, but off all the time?

VDC off guarantees I have all the power, all the time... I do leave it on in bad weather, but I drive easy at that time also..
I do not know if it helps my mileage or not, i've driven with it off for the past 8 months now, so I could not tell you guys how it is to drive with it off, compared to when it is on... Also, I have a module that remembers the state the VDC was in when the car was last run so stays off at all times unless I change that.
