I was just wondering how much this guy or gal spent to do these upgrades? 15, 20, 25 thousand???? You must consider the cost of parts and labor. If you have any info please contribute. Hopefully this will give the board a general idea of how much it will cost to make this much power.

I would guess around $25K+. figure $6K on wheels and EDFC, $20K for the engine, plus some extras. just my guess.

I get that part, i'd love to be able to modify my G and my Miata too. I had a lot of plans for my Miata, paint job, wheels, suspension, turbo charger, etc.. but after adding up all the costs i can easily step into an S2000 which will be equal to if not better than what the Miata would become for the same price.

I guess that's just me. I always have to rationalize and make logic of everything.

Because when you're doing these modifications. It really becomes your car. You're personalizing the car to what you want it to be. Otherwise, everyone has the same exact car as you. You have a G or a Miata, but does the guy down the street (just a metaphor) have one just like yours or did he/you do something to make it different from the others you've seen around town.

Later,

Ray

I would rather buy a g35 and drop 75K on it than buy a ferrari or lambo for the following reasons:
1) 75K in mods SHOULD (unless you do everything wrong) get you a much faster car than the Ferrari or Lambo.
2) You buy the Ferrari or Lambo and out of the box, there is not much you can do to mod/personalize it. IMO the whole reason for doing any mod is making it your own and having a hobbie.
3) On a smaller scale, I could buy a 90' gutted CRX, Built engine, turbos and NOS and have a much faster car than a stock G and will have spent half of what a stock G goes for; However, it's a matter of personal option (style, class, performance goals, hobbie)

... yes, and I provided my personal justification which; incidentally doesn't fall short of an obsession with Japanese Motoring. What are you confused about?

... but after you've spent $75k on the car, it will be no where legal to drive on the street... yet that ferarri is still street legal...
