VIN coding

I've tried the search, I can't find any info on how to decode the VIN#. Found a string on it, but links were dead.

The dealer is telling me its a beige exterior (I'm assuming he is talking about desert platinum), but it looks like bright silver to me. The VIN would tell me, yeah?

Help appreciated.

thanks!

Looks like the color isn't coded into the VIN... I called Infiniti directly though and they were able to help me out. (it is the DG, not the DP advertised )

Thanks!

The plate you need is under the hood on the passenger side near the shock tower. It has paint code, interior code, and all the pertinent info you need.

The dealer can tell you because the color is in their system when they look up your VIN. There is no way you by yourself can check what the color is by looking at the VIN. Like GSM said, you need to look at the plate under your hood.

On a side note, it's funny to come across someone who's running away from DG
