Why does the I35 feel like its fast than my 05 6MT?

So I have the loaner for the day, having lots of fun and this thing is a beast! Most of all it feels much quicker than my G when I mash the pedal to the metal. I looked the specs up and it says HP 255 and TQ 246...what gives guys?

Low end torque? I mean it peels out from a stop when I mash the pedal and puts me back in my seat....something I don't think I have felt in my G, but that could be another thing.

Does it feel quick because I am just sitting tight and all I am doing is feeling it rather than with an MT where its interactive driving and your concentrated on shifitng that you don't notice the acceleration or the thrown back effect?

The G is much smoother in acceleration, so it doesn't feel as fast as it really is. Where as the jerk from the I35 makes it feel faster than it actually is. I thought the same thing at first, but a quick onramp to highway check let me know that I was reaching cruising speed my slower than in my G.

It is because it's a FWD car. All that torque is on the front tires, so it will peel out easily. But in my opinion it is a bad thing. Like B33R said, "Less drivetrain Loss."

i35 and maxima are almost identical cars. both are known to be terribly designed cars, which totally effected the sales, and as far as i know, they were offering a lot of discounts on those. simply the engine had too much power & torque for its design, and the tires always peel out when you punch it hard from stop, car loses balance b4 take off, (kinda twitch around b4 it can actually take off...) which i HATED on my loaner i35.
i cant believe you are even saying this.

btw, new maxima, very very good looking car, good engine, but SAME DAMN PROBLEMS. what a shame, nissan!!!
