Unhappy plenum spacer help!

I have been emailing motordyne for the past 3 weeks and i never get a reply. I have a 2005 coupe and im interested in getting a spacer, but i still dont understand what this thermal spacer is all about can someone please clarify it for me? also does anyone know if theres any torque loss with the spacer? and is out yet? if not when should it be released? should i buy the 3/8 spacer or this thermal 5/16? please help! thanks in advance

I haven't heard of the 5/16 thermal spacer. I do have a 3/8 MD plenum spacer. I like it. I felt an instant difference in power. I am not sure about torque. All I knwo is that there is more power all they way throught the whole RPM band.

The plenum spacer and the thermal isolator are 2 separate items.
From what I understand they will be sold as a kit (2 parts)

The difference in the two is:
- The plenum spacer goes between the two halves of the plenum to give more volume.
- The thermal isolator goes under the lower plenum, on the lower intake runners.
The purpose is to help the air plenum to run cooler.

Theres more to the thermal kit then that.. but basically it allows air to come in MUCH cooler.. greater then what any form of cold air can do

I have the Thermal Kit. It comes with the new gasket that goes under the lower portion of the Plenum. It also comes with a valve to turn off the coolant to your throttle body during months that it is above 55 degrees. There are new plastic/poly spacers for the bolts in the center that actually clip on to the bolts and will not squish if slightly over torqued. I have not yet installed these parts as of yet, because my car is in the shop now getting the clicking from the rear right axle. I email Tony quite a bit and he answers rather quickly. I would try again.

I'm sorry about that! I try to get to all the emails but I get so many sometimes its hard to keep up.. And I have been up to my neck in new development work and many sucessfull dynos! I wish I could talk about them but I can't just yet.

As for torque, if Pre/Post dynoed accurately, it will never show a loss.

Interesting!
Is it a manual valve?
Or, a solonoid valve with thermostat control?
