Anyone having probs with lower door trim

I was out washing my car a few weeks back and the 1/2" rubber trim that runs the length of the door bottom starting ripping. YES!!! I was detailing it when from the back edge it ripped about 3" long. I tried superglueing it where it came apart, but the glue only hold for a day or two. So, I got tired of looking at this thing haning there, so I snipped it off!

Now, it's not very appearant if you don't know where to look, but I have to say that I am very unpleased with the materials INFINITI used to make this part. As matter fact, the color is starting to faid and it is a dingy yellowish color that is starting to look like A$$ against my Ivory Pearl.

I am at work right now, but I will take pictures at lunch today and post them. Is this a part I can special order? Hope so, I paid $90 bucks to get a ding out of my door without needing paint. My wife calls me crazy... I say NOT!

ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?

Yep, I had that problem as well, and had to wait a couple weeks for the dealer to order the thing, as they didn't have my color in stock.

I was told that this was a rare occurrence, but I guess not.

I've also noticed that the color is changing on that piece (also Ivory Pearl). I need to go and see my dealer.

I treat my rubber door trim with Meguiars Vinyl and Rubber Protectant every time I clean/detail the interior (about every 2 months). Keeps it looking shiny and new, and keeps it conditioned and in good shape. I use this same stuff on all interior vinyl and "plastic" (dash, console, etc). It's got UV protectant so it will keep the interior from fading over time.

That's interesting that I am not the only one. I too detail my interior, but never thought of this tiny white molding strip. Sorry I didn't get a chance to take the pics, but I will as soon as I get back to the house.

Tony K - What did the dealer charge you for new moldings?

Mine is discolored too and I've noticed for quite a long time. Didn't know the dealer would replace something like that.

Hey guys...new to the forum. What's Up???

Anyways...the rubber stripping under my door is ripping too. Does anyone know how much this would cost from the dealer?

Is it available from any G35 sites like everything35.com?
Any DIY jobs for this out there?

Thanks!

Mine has also ripped on both sides, the dealer says it is not covered beyond the first 12 month 12,000 miles. They said I can special order @ around $80.00 +...

$80, per side? Is this installed? If it is, sounds too good to be true by dealer standards
