Are you telling me the Z had Bluetooth standard? WTH!!!!!!!! That is so irritating!

Nah, just the xenon projectors (even though base 350z's came with halogens up until now). The Z never came with the crappy reflectors like us. But it does have some cool gadgets that have been stanard since '03 - 6MT shift light, mpg computer and whatnot.

Sorry, but think I'm going to just order an '05. I have been diligently waiting for months for these pictures and I'm not impressed. The only thing that would change my mind is if they had IP w/black interior and I doubt they will. Not worth waiting until the 6MT comes out or the price hike (which I know we are not discussing here). I didn't want the wing anyway so that's not really doing anything for me. I don't like the front coming up in the middle like that and think the old bumper with a lip looks much better. Headlights like everyone said can be retro-fitted. No intelligent key? WTF? As far as bluetooth I can live with or without it. Think I'm gonna save a few thousand bucks for my shoes and go "old school" with the 05.

Make it Laser Red, add bluetooth, and dump the rear spoiler and you got it!

I was thinking DG but that's a definite on the dump the wing thing. Besides, you ge the 06 and you have to get the wing and then you're fillin holes. U figure the price difference I can probably spend $3-$4k on some 10.5's.

I actually like the changes in the 06 except for the bubbly tail light. The redesigned reverse light is actually nicer considering the trunk release button next to it. I tried to imagine the 05 tail light with the trunk release and the 06 model matches better.

Two separate things. Even 02/03 Maximas had the auto entry/ exit. Doesn't the sedan currently have it too?

Finiti35, I've read a few of your posts (of the many you have) and trust your judgement. What would you do? Buy a 05 or wait for 06? I'm a big DIY'er so mods and such are not a problem. Hit me back.

I'm withholding judgment on whether I prefer the 05 or 06 until I see the prices for the 06.

Sure, I like the memory seats and the suspension upgrades and maybe even the new projectors, but not at any cost.

Whoa, some guys out there actually trust women's judgments It depends on a few things. I don't believe in getting options I'm not going to use, just because they're cool to have. I admit, I have no use for the Nav, for the dual-zone A/C (95% of the time), heated seats, homelink... and if I had an 06, I would have absolutely no use for the entry/exit assist, memory seats, even BT (I drive either early in the morning or late at night and I don't drive much at all, so I can't even justify the cost of a retrofit yet). Other people talk on the phone all day and they swear by BT. So it's very relative. I don't believe the 06 6MT will have the intelligent key.. I once compared all the G features to the iDrive BMW system and the reasons why people get options they know they'll never use.. so it's up to you to decide if the new features are important enough. Anyway, I'm not impressed by the exterior changes on the '06, but I *could* live with them because of the projectors. So here we have a few factors that come into play:

1. What transmission are you getting? Are you in a hurry to buy? If you were to buy now, can you find a G with the color and options you want in stock? The 06 6MT won't come out until Dec-Jan, and those will be the preordered ones. Also, you'll know you'll have the car for barely a year before it gets redesigned. A redesign will hurt both my and your car's resale value no matter if it's an 05 or an 06.

2. Let's say you save 6-7 grand after taking taxes, discounts, price increases, etc into account by buying an 05 instead of an 06. Is this kind of money a big deal for you? Keep in mind that 7 grand can get you a Vortech supercharger, installed and tuned, if you have any interest in going F/I.

3. Are you buying or leasing? How long are you planning on keeping it? If you only keep it for a year or 2, be advised the 05 is practically last year's model, so the money you save on the purchase will be somewhat, if not fully offset by the money you lose on the trade/sale down the line (depending on the condition of the car, miles, etc). If you plan on keeping it for 3-4 years or more, the difference in resale value between an 05 and an 06 will be minimal, everything else being equal.

4. You're a big DYI guy.. good for you! Someone recently installed Bluetooth in their 05 G35x for a total cost of $300. Many other guys have retrofitted projectors on their Gs. There is so much aftermarket stuff out there much more advanced than stock that makes all the year-to-year changes seem minimal.

The answer is, there is no definite answer. I bought an 05 instead of an 04 only because I was incredibly lucky to get it at invoice while every dealer was charging MSRP. Otherwise I would have bought an 03/04, I'd be enjoying a lower monthly payment and spending the saved money on mods. It all depends on your situation, I hope my pointers help a little

how much do you think one can bargain off the msrp of an 05 now? since dealers will be trying to clear the way for the 06's

Depends on your area, usually it's easier to bargain up north than on the east/west coast, but I'd say anything under $500 over invoice is a great deal.
