Finiti 35, Thanks for your opinion. Male or Female shouldn't matter as long as you know what you're talking about right? I can tell by your threads you're pretty knowledgeable and seem to be outgoing enough to answer a question from a newbie coming over from Club RSX. Anyhway, nice write! I too usually don't use all the little features they offer such as heated seats. I'm here in Nor-Cal so there's no reason for stuff like that. I guess it's a nice option if you want to keep your girl warm in the passenger side but other than that I wouldn't need it. The only thing I want is Navi so I can use the screen. I like the stock location and doing the nav/dvd DIY should be pretty easy and cost effective.

I work for HP so I get VPP pricing through Nissan/Infiniti. I think I would get a better deal on an 05 because by the time they offer (if they even do) VPP pricing on the 06 it will be in April or something which is way too far down the road. I mean, if the changes were significant enough I would wait but I think I would rather get a good price on the 05 and swap the headlights. I agreed with you on the tails. Why throw a sqaure reverse light on a rounded out car? Doesn't match to me but that's just my .02.

Regarding financing I'm just going to lease like I did my RSX-s. Leaves me more money per month to mod the car and I will just sell it in a couple years anyway. Now I just need to decide color and wheel options. Should I get Piaa's? LOL Just kidding. I just wish they had IP w/ Black. You people who got that option lucked out. You got the good color match and the Brembos. Anyway, thanks for your help. I'll post pics once I get my ride and have at least the wheels on.

 

I would personally get the 04...do not like the 19" rims at all....but thats just me.

 

The only things I really don't like on the '06 are the spoiler (I don't like the pre-'06 one either) and the new taillight. But since the new stuff is pretty significant (Bluetooth, I-key, etc.), I suppose I can learn to like the new taillight. So my vote is for the '06. Of course, that's only because we're not considering the cost.

 

IMO:

06 external changes:

Headlight: Love it in the day time, don't like it much at night. I am used to seeing the orange turn signal and clearance stripe. 06 lost the signature look at night.

New Front Bumper: I like the new aggressive look, but it looks very similar to the Nismo sedan/coupe front bumper. The new bumper makes the car look taller than the original bumper with lip spoiler. I suppose that's good for the parking challenged who cubs the front lip twice a month. Still, the new look makes people want to lower the car.

New Rear Spoiler: It's interesting looking, like a duck tail. It's not any better looking than the original one, just different. I think both spoilers look fine, and the car looks good without a spoiler as well.

New Tail Lamps: I have a mixed reaction on this one. The new reflectors makes it easier to see the car from the side, but distorts the 'pure LED' signature look Infiniti cars have. The concavity on the new tail light looks nice, but it also reminds me of the Mercury Cougar. The concavity distorts the clean line the coupe has in the back IMO. Trunk opening button in the middle of the tail lamp? Hmmm, it works but looks strange. Oh yeah, I can't stand the new reverse lamps, they look 1980-ish.

 

OMG I hate ignorant people. Just because of the rims you say the 04 is better? What is the big deal... you can get the 05 without the 19" if you so want. Not only that, but you get a NICE interior instead of a crappy painted plastic one. Just because you have an 04 doesnt mean you have to act like it is the best to convinse yourself you dont want an 05.
