Grounding kit review (a good one! :))
after reading many posts on G and Z boards, i decided to get a grounding kit. I made mine myself from 4 gauge scoche cable and gold plated ring terminals ..
Everyone claims that the idle gets smoother.. well, I didn't notice this at all so I figured no biggie. Cant be worse than before so i'll just leave it in as peace of mind (plus since I made it myself, the cost was only around $40)... then yesterday I hit some traffic and noticed that when I'm in 1st / 2nd gears and I go way low in the RPM range (around 400-700), the car no longer stutters and jerk like it used to! what a great feeling. Basically, before the kit, at low rpm's the car would kinda lurch, most likely cause of the drive-by-wire throttle and / or MAF sensor singnals.. now, i get none of that and am a very happy camper. I would definitely recommend this upgrade to anyone.

Excellent! Being a 6MT'er in LA traffic I would do almost anything to stop that jerkiness at low RPMs. Where did you get the Scoche cables from? I'm sure it's easy to make the cables but am wondering where to pickup the materials. Thanks bro.

I got the cable from NorthCoast Performance (www.nthcoast.com). They're a mustang shop but for some reason have these wires at incredibly good prices (90cents per foot). The connectors I got at PartsExpress.
1bert - do a search for grounding kit and you'll find all the info. I wouldnt call this jerking a problem since it's not extremely prominent, but if you're in really slow moving traffic, it is noticeable.

I made mine from 4 Gauge Monster Cables from Ultimate Electronics. You can also get them from most audio stores. Get the oxygen free ones. I use copper lugs instead of gold ones for better conductivity.

Fiddler:
Thanks for the tip re the SCOSCHE cable. That would make a good resource for those that are wanting to make their own. That's less than bulk pricing from the factory (which unfortunately I can't have shipped to Canada). I won't scare you with the Canadian price for the stuff!
BTW, would you mind re-posting your impressions on the Hyper-Ground Thread. for others to view? Thanks in advance.
