Well I got the news, they need to order me a new throttle body for my car. I am so pissed, they have no loaner cars and apparently the part will be in Monday night and hopefully ready on Tuesday. I am trying to get them to get me a rental car because I can not be without a car for that long. Hopefully everything will work out alright.

That damn throttle body again! Last time I was at the dealer, the service guy said that there's a TSB out for the throttle bodies, that they tend to bind or something and give poor acceleration.

Too bad you're not in Socal, I have an extra throttle body.

yeah, someone else who has an 05 had the same exact thing go wrong with his car. I guess it could be worse, but still a PITA none the less.

I was thinking. Since I was in Burbank in the freaking heat(100+ F). Maybe the throttle plate expanded due to heat to the point were it seized, causing the TB to malfunction...

That's really weird, becuase the throttle body that went out on me was also bored out. I sent it to Proflow with a stock one, hoping that if they swapped the internals, then all would be ok, and I could keep the physically bored out one.

But that's when the ECU went into limp mode.

I've taking about the two throttle bodies, and I'm not quite sure what's going on.

I'm currently running a stock one. I have another stock one sitting at home now for backup.

Well I resetted the ECU, and just got back from driving the sh*t outta the TB. It's seemed ok. I think it was temperature related. I'm gonna put back the coolant connections that flows through the Crawford Plenum. I bypassed it cuz it was leaking at that time. Hopefully that will control the temperature better....

Don't sweat it, it's better it happened now than later.... Make sure to stick it to the man by doing doughnuts in the G35 sedan loaner you probably got.

Per Jim at ProFlow, there was a issue with the internal gears of the throttle body. Nissan has a service bulletin for the fix.

I told Jim about the TSB last time I talked with him.

I've gone through about 3 throttle bodies. The internal electronics are very delicate. I didn't realize that there are electronics in the black cover. I think that's where the throttle position sensor is.

I've had throttle bodies that have unstable idle, inability to relearn idle with the pedal resets, making the ECU go into limp mode, having idles of 1500, just a bunch of crazy stuff.

My current TB idles around 750-800. Still towards the high side, but at least it's not throwing the p0507 code (high idle, more than 200 above target of 650). I had to swap a more funcational motor and electronics onto the throttle body that Jim@proflow bored out for me. Crazy stuff.
