Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I talked to Francisco and he is on the case. I told him what I wanted and he said he could probably find one for me. Now if only they will take my trade in. A month ago I bought a 2003 Mustang GT on a impulse buy. My buddy works at Ford and i got 6k off sticker so I picked it up. The sticker was 26K. Francisco is working a trade with that car. So hopefully it works out. I told him I wanted a Black on Graphite, NAV, Aero, and Premium package. We will see what he does. Susanne from Ray Catena has not even called me back. I also had my sister put in a call to her friend who owns a Nissan Dealership. he claimed he could get a G35 coupe at tissue when I was ready. So if all goes well, i will be at Etown in a few weeks baselining this car. But what should I do? Take a 2003 or order a 2004. i will have a daily driver until Sept 28th. So it is not a mad rush.

If he had an y M3 6spds, i would be driving one right now.

So instead, you bought a Mustang? Was it a Saleen or something? I don't know many people that go from buying an M3 to buying a *gasp* MUSTANG!!!
And another thing, you don't "settle" for a G35 with an ATI or turbo setup, you "settle" for a Mustang, its a cheap car with little class. People that want M3's don't settle for less....especially a ford. (Absent a GT40)

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Sorry, I drive a Maxima daily and bought a GT for kicks. I also bought a 4k Procharger kit that is for sale right now and 3k more in parts(gears, pulleys, TB, ENTIRE exhaust) It was suppose to be a play car. But since I wanted something new and my Maxima lease is almost up, I decided to get rid of the GT project and and build up a G35. Does that make more sense to you. I tell you what find me a 6sp M3, new, in NJ and I will not even think about buying a G35. Like I said the only one that was not a demo was a Vert and they want almost 60k. So I tell you what. Find one for me and i will have it by Saturday. The Mustang was a play around car. But I promise you with the Procharger installed it would have run faster then any G35 on the road ever! Infact with a few bolt ons it ran 13.60@102 on stock tires. At 3500+ pounds. Do you think your G35 will ever run that with a handful of bolt-ons??? A stang might be a cheapie, but it runs with the right parts. I figured a G35 with a Procharger will run in the mid-low 13's. That would be 42k worth of car. A M3 is in the mid to upper 40k's and runs almost the same.
So find me an M3 and I will be happy to stop justifying my actions to a hater like you!

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Im suppose to be picking my car up on thursday. i paying $34,915 ($700 off MSRP) for a 03' 6MT w/ prem/Aero Package and mats at Kings Infiniti. I went to Ray catena and they wouldnt do anything off MSRP for the color and options i wanted. so i called a few and Kings Infiniti had tha exact car i was looking for coming in early july. so i jumped on it. i was also quoted a $1,000 off MSRP for a 03 6mt w/ prem/aero/XM but didnt get the color i wanted and had to wait til august or late july. and the salesman couldnt provide me a order number. That was Parks infiniti, i believe his name is Angel. I think now its easier to get a 03 for a few hundred off MSRP but i think i was dammm lucky to find tha exact car i want, colors and options with 700 of msrp. well good luck to finding the G of ur dreams... i did.

This is true. I have nothing against Fords (I've owned 3 of them), but I was shopping for an M3 last year, came to my senses, and got a Z06 instead. The Mustang wasn't even on my radar screen.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I just went to Lynnes Infiniti's site and built a 2004 online. There was the Premium Package, Aero Package, NAV and also an Aero Body package. I added everything up and it came out to 37,995. What exactly is the body set up? Is it worth the 600 bucks? The guy from Ramsey said he could not tell he difference between the body kit and one without it???!!!
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
i heard lynnes infiniti isnt a gret place to buy a car. This coming from a lady whose husband works their as a sale, she bought a car from them and she said she nor her husband would buy a car from their. Grouchy employees there makes bad service. i think the aero body kit adds a front lip only. i may be wrong but i think thats it. look at blazac72's car, i think he got the front lip.
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
The sales guy told me it adds a little to the skirts as well. There is a guy selling the aero body kit from his car on the "parts for sale" section. He has a picture of the car and it has some subtle differences. Well worth 600 bucks to be a liitle different. I have to wait till Monday for Lynne Quote. Steven is out on vacation till then. He will probably give me the best deal. A good friend of mine suggested him. The guy owns a Nissan dealer and is trying to get me into a Z, but i told him I wanted the Infiniti and he told me to call Steve and he would do tissue on a ordered car. But talk is cheap. Susanne just called me back with a price of 37,885 for the Black on Black, 6sp, aero, aero body, and the NAV. That was for a 2004 model, but it may not come in till Oct! i might have to extend my current lease by one month. Monday I will see what Steve says.
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........

Hater?
Anyway, getting to business, I guess I should have pegged you for a guy that likes his toys rather than the true M3 enthusiast, my apologies.
The Aero kit is definately worth the money, especially after other G owners ask me where I got it! So far, I haven't seen another G on Long Island with the kit and it is definately distinctive. Well worth the drop in the bucket that it cost. It balances the car rather than overwhelm it like the other boy racer front lips. As far as I noticed, the only things added to the sides are the mud guards, which are nice, but don't "make" the car. If you have to wait for the car to come equiped with these parts, I'd just get them after you get the car through a dealer.
If I had to wait until October for a car, I think I'd jump on an M3 waiting list as well and just see which one comes in first. And if you really want me to locate a 6spd M3, I'll bet I can find it quickly. You buying Wendys if I find it?
What state are you in again?

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I have a 6MT coupe with navigation. It is really worth it. The navigation system is excellent. I got my car for exactly sticker
at Cerritos Infiniti (in Southern Cal) and if you call around, someone will definitely do it for sticker. With everything (premium, aero, sport pkg, etc.) you will pay 37-mid.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
You know you are right! Why settle? I spoke to a good friend of mine and he said that on Thursdays he goes up to Manheim, PA.(http://www.manheim.com/) He has a Dealer Auction ID. He said Thusdays they have all the higher end autos. Like BMW. Mercedes and so on. My buddy said that I have a great chance to pick up a used M3 for alot less then retail. I notified my bank and I think I will be bring 40k cash with me this Thursday. He said I could bring cashiers checks, but I do not know the amount. Or my other option is getting a ton of M/O!! 40k cash seems crazy to me. But pament is by cashier checks, M/O or cash. If I do not see anything on Thursday, I will call Susanne and order the 2004 G35. But who knows maybe i will find something up there. My other friend went last year and saw new Vettes(non Z06) going for 17k. He was tempted to buy one, but his wife would have killed him.
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Ok, I went to Park Ave BMW in Maywood today and they did a search and guess what??? There is a Black on Black M3 6sp in Port Newark right now! It has leather, premium package, cold weather, adjustable seat back, HK stereo and aluminum interior trim. I took it! But it was late tonight and the sales guy was not 100% sure it was not allocated already. But i will know by 9am in the morning!!! I was off on the price. it was 55k, I thought they were in the mid 40's. But I am sick of car shopping. So if all goes well, I will be gripping and ripping by Friday or Saturday. Thanks everyone for all the advice and to the guy who said I should get the M3, thanks! that is what I wanted in the first place. I guess I should find a new forum? Thanks again.
