Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I read through the site and it seems very informative. I am in NJ and I am ready to pick up a 6sp, G35 coupe. According to this site it is 32K+. But the absolute best internet deal I was quoted was from Ray Catena(#1 Infiniti dealer) The rock bottom price was 35,095. That is is w/o NAV. But leather and 6speed. Please if anyone knows a dealer in NJ/NY that will sell one at 32k, let me know. i will buy from them this weekend. Please anyone??? The extra money i save I could almost buy a charger for it. Thanks
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
you should go to the infiniti.com website and Click on G35 Coupe....then Build and Search Dealer inventory, input your zip code and it will find the nearest dealers from you within a givin radius. You should call each and every dealer there and ask them. Most places are open until 9PM tonight.
Good Luck.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
To find a 6mt that low will be a real challenge since they are rare also.
You might have to put an order for one to get that price.
- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

You want a $35k car that is selling at sticker through most of the US for $32k? A neighbor who I talked to on Sat was only able to find a 6mt in Pennsylvania and it had no nav. No negotiations, he paid sticker as you will too.
The best deal I heard is some guy who used the internet sites to "scam" a dealer into a $500 discount from sticker. He also drove 600 miles if memory serves me correctly.
If I were you, I'd get ready to pay sticker or head on over to the Acura lot and get yourself a CL Type-S.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Don't get confused here as well. You can get a 6MT for 32k but it won't have the premium package, navi, or aero. The one for 35k will have the premium package but still no navi or aero. I have yet to hear anyone getting a 6MT for under MSRP because Infiniti has no incentive to do so. In most places they are on 2 month backorder.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Your right. i did a little checking around and the 6sp is 32k, premium bumps that up to 35k and NAV and Aero adds another 2500. The sales person at Ray Catena wants 900 to add the wing. Kind of high??? Also is the NAV worth getting? I was looking at M3's and the dealer told me that very few of them have NAV because they are sport cars. Anyone have a 6sp and NAV? Is it worth the 2k? Is there a monthly charge or does the service come with the set up? i guess I am looking at 37k+ Plus she told me that getting a black on black 6 spd is not going to happen. She said I could order a 2004 and get exactly what I want.

This actually sounds right. A G35 6-sp with Premium is just below $35K. With a couple accessory options, it would be exactly what you were quoted. The base price is $32,200 plus $545 destination. The premium package adds another $2200.

"I was looking at M3's and the dealer told me that very few of them have NAV because they are sport cars."
News flash: he wants to sell you an M3 from stock or already ordered by them without Nav.
"Anyone have a 6sp and NAV?"
I've got 6sp and Nav. Other than the transmission, it's the same as an automatic and Nav. Get it?
"Is it worth the 2k?"
If you expect to have a use for a nav system, yes. It's an excellent system. I love mine.
"Is there a monthly charge or does the service come with the set up?"
There is no "service", and no monthly charge. The government puts satellites up that provide global positioning information (GPS) data to cars and anyone else with a receiver, on a boat, plane, hand held device...whatever. It's in the air all the time, like ordinary radio and TV signals.
"i guess I am looking at 37k+"
Only for a 6MT with all the options including Nav. I paid $37,115 (after a $500 discount) for mine, a 6MT with Nav ($2000, which requires the Premium pkg for another $2250), Aero ($550) and trunk mat ($70). You could skip all that and save close to $5K. You may have to settle for a color other than your choosing though, or wait for a special order.
I got my car through Ramsey Infiniti, also in NJ. They have a large allocation and are one of the biggest dealers in the country. Try them, and ask for Francisco. Tell him Ted from NY/CT sent you.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Actually it is Susanne. She sounds like a sweetheart. But I will call Ramsey today and ask what they have available. Susanne told me that is I wanted a Black on Black 6spd, it would probably have to be ordered 2004 model year. I am ready to buy right now. Just let me find the right color and deal.
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
Oh! The BMW dealer was not even trying to sell me stock by telling me not to get NAV. He actually told me that there is no hope of getting a new M3. They are not any around. he told me that West Coast BMW dealers call them asking to buy their allocation for M3s. He said there is no stock on hand at all. He said the only ones left are the weird special orderd models. Ones people ordered and backed out from. He said most of those have NAV. Maybe it is not the case with these infiniti, but BMW M3/M5 buyers rarely get NAV. Simple fact. If he had an y M3 6spds, i would be driving one right now. But there are none except a Vert with SMG that he wants 60k for!!!! So I will setlle for a G35 coupe with a ATI or Turbo setup.
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I have a 6MT and Nav. Basically my car is fully loaded. So I paid a bit over $37k. As for the Nav....I am glad I got it. I have used it a lot more than I thought i would (in SoCal its very helpful). Plus you get the onboard computer with it, with the Fuel Economy readout and Trip meter.
Is it worth $2k, to me sure. On a $32k+ car, $2k was not much to add. But then it comes down to how much you are will (and can) spend.

Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I have no problem spending 37k with the NAV. Now the problem is where to find one!!??? I called Ransey and Francisco is not in until 12:00 I will try him then. Susanne might be beat if Franciso can give me a deal. Or should I order one and wait for a 2004 model year??? Susanne said there is no discount for a "left over" 2003 model. And she said the 2004 might be 200 more. Wouldn't it be worth it to get the 2004?
Re: Please, a few questions for a newbie..........
I was able to get a $1000.00 discount with a couple of extras thrown in. This only happenned because I had established a
year long relationship with my salesmen. He told me to simply keep in touch. I kept in touch and when I was financially ready I entered into serious negotiations and was even willing to wait for the 2004 model. So I guess the patient approach helped. But realistically speaking this is not
feasible for most people. It probably also helped that when I got serious about the purchase I mentioned that AAA could offer immediate delivery but no markdowns. As a result I only have a month wait for delivery July 2003.
