We stopped together at the traffic light. I was setting the gear at 1st, when the green light flash both of us pushed it hard. I though he is going to beat me easily but I could hold him beside me to 60mph then he slowed down. He gave me thumbs up it was my first race with V8 sport. I raced escalade before but it wasn’t fair racing it was for fun.

 

was it a WS6 and which model year. the earlier ones had LT1's and the later ones had LS6's. I figure those V8's would torque us off the line and smoke the G. those thinigs have over 300 hp and tq. good job.
ps be ready to be flamed for street racing.

 

He only raced to 60, and assuming it was on a highway or something thats under, just at, or slightly over the speed limit.

Whenever I race I like to play it safe and just say to race to 60, but sometimes that doesen't happen. I joined in on a G35 and 350Z (both seemed to be heavily modded, and I heard a turbo on one of them) and they were flying through the highway at well over 125+ with some light traffic, so I decided to back the hell off.

Anyway, I've never really gotten a chance to mess with a Transam yet, good to hear though.

 

I want to race one and almost did too a couple days ago me and my friends were going the movies and the next thing I know a mustang converible modded and a trans am were flying by me at like 80-100 on the street. I was LIKE FUCCK what if I changed lanes? SO at the next light I rev the G so they can here the BOV and then only the Mustang raced and got smoked bad really bad lol I was laughing my *** off cause and so were the other 3 people in my car that guy was super emberrased hahah. But at least I did it in a much safer area where there was no traffic. and after I smoked it him at about 70 or so I shut down and let off

Well it wasn’t that hard racing it was to 60mhp and I could control the G at this speed. Sometimes I see SUV racing each other for fun what r u talking about.

if it was a WS6 and the race went longer, you would have got smoked! i love my G, but its no match for an LS1!! they are underrated......they really have 350hp stock......

 

Thats just plain wrong.

WS6 is mosly a cosmetic package. The ramair does nothing cause the "nostrals" are blocked off and they were rated at 10 more HP. Which was an underrating ANYWAYS since some F-bodies dyno at the wheels what the were rated at the Flywheel.

ALL transams have LT1s or LS1s depending on the year. NONE of them got LS6s.
