Switched my Brake Pads and installed some SSR GT3s

First of all I had already started to experience brake squeel and was tired of cleaning my wheels off all the time. I put the car on the lift and removed the wheels and removed the brake pads. Upon inspection of the pads I saw a big build up around the pads which is what I am sure leads to the annoying brake squeel. I installed EBC Green Pads, the install went in very easily however the stock pads have a small loop that clips onto the caliper which does not exist on the aftermarket pads however this is not a problem as it doesn't serve a big purpose. My car at 9K miles had already worn thru 1/3-1/2 of the pad which I was kind of surprised to see. My I should stop trying to lift the rear tires off the every time I stop. :-) The brakes seemed to have some bite more than stock I would say and I will comment later after I run down a bit how well they worked and how much does is generated.

Well here is some good news also I grabbed some 19" SSR GT3s that I had on the floor that were from the shops Supra and the things bolted right and worked great except that hubcentric had to removed. I will post later on how they look they are 19x9 in front with 245/35 and 19x10 in the rear with a 285/30. I will post some pics of them later on the car. To bad they are only temp till I get my 18s that were ruined by the detailer who sprayed some acid base cleaner on them.

Are EBC Green pads green color? THey sound like a great thing, but I would hate to have green colored pads.

they are painted gree on the plate side and the brake on the sides. However the actual pad itself are normal material.
Also I drove the car today and they are great..

Take a look at

The EBC greenstuff pads are not "normal" material. The pads base compound is Kevlar rather than graphite (carbon). The graphic is what causes all the dusting problems. In addition the Kevlar has better friction factor across a wider range of temperatures than the graphite. See the many threads on this site as well as many others (e.g., audifans.com, audiworld.com, miata.net, etc.).

They also have Redstuff pads that are a red color, which are for more aggressive driving and more track use -- these pads handle higher temps better, but don't bite quite as well as the Green when cold. Most of the green will be hidden by your calipers. I actually want a set of these when it's time to swap the pads out on my sedan -- hopefully they'll have a rear pad part# by then, too.
