Hey G35 drivers... im new to this forum and had some questions on what to expect from the g35 coupe. I currently own a 2003 325ci (loaded) sports package, prem. package and all. I will be switching to a 2004 g35 mainly for power since the bimmer cant satisfied my heavy foot haha. I know I will see a gain in horse power right away with the g35, but what else can I look forward too? How will the handling be? Any previous bmw owners are very much welcome to this thread. Also, what kind of mods will I need to get the g35 up close to 300hp. I believe the 04's have about 260hp so would an intake, chip, exhaust, etc. be enough? In addition, what changes did they make to the '05 g35's to make the 20hp (total hp 280) faster? If so please let me know what you guys recommend.

Aight! I guess I'm not the only making the "switch"! I too have a BMW and will be getting a '05 G35 soon!

 

the 05 6MT is rated at 298 hp and 280 tq. it would take a lot to get 300 hp to the wheels without FI

Expect a lot, and it will deliever, class, style, handing like I didn't think possible (last car was a saab 9-3 and a firebird), amazing mid rpm range torque.

I like infiniti better than BMW, bmw has a prickish uppity label to me.

 

Don't expect it to be too mod friendly compared to other cars. FI is the only way you get big gains really.

 

thanks for the posts guys... so since I will be going for the 04 g35c I will be working with 280hp, what can I expect an intake and chip will add hp wise? How much is the hp or the 03 g35c? What other simple mods can be done? Also do the Nismo parts from nissan for the 350Z fit the g35? I am looking at the intake, sways (front and rear), and brembos brakes (front and rear).

 

I hope your talking about the Sedans .... those do have 260HP the 04 coupes have 280 HP and the 2005 6MT's have 298HP ... and 300HP to the wheels is possible ... but not unless u go FI ... but u'll definately be satisfied with your G.. btw the 325Ci isn't too bad either ... one of my best friends just bought an E46 05 325Ci ... and its sick

 

Bolt on mods such as exhausts and intake ... won't yield a lot of HP .. however ur car will feel smoother ...and breath bettter and definately sound better....

 

How much would it take to get the 280bhp to 300 base hp. I guess I basically want the 298 that the 6MT offers but on a 5AT. Yeah you guys are right to get the whrp up to 300 its going to take FI. Will the nismo parts work on the infiniti?

 

yeah NISMO has a lot for our cars i believe... but i havent bought any NISMO parts yet ...
