Wait, the tires are more than 20lbs? That doesn't seem right.

OEM 18" are 25 lbs. The tires are about 23 lbs.

YES! Tires do weigh that much. Even though your sidewall is shorter with low profile tires, the walls have to be thicker. A lot of people think they are saving weight going with a 19" forged rim. The rim itself might be lighter, but when they put 275 tires on them, those tires weigh alot more. In general the 19" tire weighs more than the 18" one. Added to that, the majority of the weight is farthest from your rotational axis, you've added alot of rotational mass. You can spend thousands for lightweight 19" rims thinking that you're going to go faster, but you can actually create the opposite effect.

Damn that's crazy, I really never thought they were that heavy, even when I'm changing tires or picking them up.

According to the bridgestone website the 19s are 27 lbs front 30 lbs rear. I can't wait to replace them with toyos.

275 series 19's from Toyo are 26lbs... not that great a savings.

The Potenza RE050A are stupid heavy. The tires alone offsets any potential benefit those forged lightweight rims give you to begin with.
