Dont know if this was posted already but has this ever happened to anyone else with an 05 before? Mild driving from first around 2k rpms. Punch it and shift at around 6.5k, not even redline, car feels like its about to stall then VCD light goes off and I am like, WTF?! Has happened twice now at random..

 

Never seen that and I've taken her to 7k on occasion. Weird.

 

Funny thing is if I take it to redline she reacts fine and chirps the way she was meant to. Anything under 6k and randomly the car will turn VCD back on and limp itself.. *weird*

 

i don't get what your saying. if the light turns off then the vdc has come on. do u mean that u turned off vdc in the first place hit the gas then all of a sudden it came back on again? are u talking about the 'vdc off' light or the slip light? please clarify.

 

He means he's activating the overzelous VDC when standing on it in first and shifting agressively near redline. Mine and other G's I have driven also do it. Thank Infiniti for making a overzelous VDC program. My brothers Lincoln LS is less in your face then my G's traction control and it's a 4 door sedan, go figure.

 

Okay maybe I can clarify myself. I turn VCD off which means the light on the dash is on. If I redline the car shifting in any gear the car drives normal. However twice now when from a punch and then shifting at say 5k rpms, the car would enable VCD by itself, dashlight turns off, while I am driving after the shift...

 

VDC never shuts down completely!

 

Yeah but to turn itself back on?! Has this every happened to you.. Maybe she is trying to tell me to redline or dont waste her time..

 

I have yet to experience this. Even when shifting at around 5k, etc... Did you guys get some cool new software or something?

 

i thought that's what u meant. thanks for the clear-up. i've never experienced that in my car. if i shut vdc off it stays off until i flip the switch again.

Haven't had this happen yet... ...but I haven't been above 5300rpm yet. (still at just over 500 miles)

 

Man drive the car, if you break it in soft its gonna grow up soft. Take her up to redline every now and again dont wait around.. ANd I guess its just me then, I will keep the 05 peeps posted on the haps but I just dont want this to happen to me during a spirited race anywhere making me look bad..

 

umm...this is prolly a dumb question, but did they change the vdc to an actual switch in the 05? that would be nice.

 

Somethings wrong with your car then. Ive redlined my car to 7k RPM and higher before and VDC has never turned itself back no when i already turned it off.

 

Oh i thought i was crazy when i was on the highway and my passenger said " WTF your lights on the dash all turned on" i thought he was joking unitl it happend and i noticed it.
