So I am taking my car into the dealer to have the oil changed, etc. And I've mentioned that I want them to look at the brakes since they have started to squeak obnoxiously over the last 1500 miles or so. It doesn't squeak when I brake hard, but rolling up to a stop sign, it's a little annoying. The service guy told me this is "normal" and is even in the owners manual.

Anyways anyone had this problem? and did Infinito tell you it was normal? I mean at times it sounds like I'm driving a $3k kia.

 

Normally it's a sign of low brake pads, but for our cars it might be just normal. My 05 is much much better compared to 03 sedan I used to drive. G35 brakes squeaks a lot during high humidity. It also squeaks when the brake pads are not warmed up and after evey car wash that includes tire dressing(spray ones). But if you have close to 30K miles, it might be just low brake pads.

 

I have about 6500 miles.

 

I have about 9k on mine and haven't heard a squeak.

 

Then it seems like its normal huh? My 05 coupe is so far squeak-free (2000 miles) but my 03 sedan that my wife drives now is so fuc*in crazy that it never stops squeaking.

 

4500 squeek free miles so far. NOT NORMAL, shove ur boot up his a$$ as u drive off to another dealer. Seems that this is always the easiest thing to say.

 

I know it's not normal - and I told him several times that I know about all the past issues with the brakes on the G. I don't think he liked me telling him that - said he will still "look" at them when I take it in. It's sad someone would tell me that considering I paid a decent amount of $ for the car.
