Dealer claims rear swaybar wore out the spring and spring mount. Any thoughts...
After I had my axles tightened, I noticed a new clunking sound coming from the driver's rear wheelwell area as I was driving off the lot. To my knowledge, I had not heard it before this service.
I took the car back and the dealer says that the spring and spring mount are worn out due to the aftermarket sway bar and that the swaybar link may need to be replaced--although he sounded less emphatic about this part.
Does this sound right? I can't imagine for the life of me how a sway bar could cause wear to the spring assembly. And, even if this is the case, there is no way that the spring could be damaged, right?
Any thoughts?

Does anyone have a diagram of the rear suspension assembly showing the swaybar in relation to the spring assembly?
<cough> Bull-Shhh <cough>.... Springs and the spring mount worn - NOTHING to do with the sway bars! They're feeding you a load of you know what! The sway link on the other hand, if you didnt tighten that good enough upon install, well then yea you can screw it up, but that's an EASY fix! Swap it out (will take you a whole 15min) and you're done...

If they told me that the sway link needed to be tightened, even replaced, I could see that as at least a possibility. But to tell me that a spring is worn, what a load of crap. I obviously have a very anti-consumer dealership.
