Snowtire #2003.. and a valid question RE sensors
Snowtire #2003.. and a valid question RE sensors
So in my neck of the woods, Chicago suburbs, I get about 3-5 snow days per season. They are all quickly cleared and salted down. That having been said, I've had good luck with mild snow tires on my former M3 and C class.
Now with the G... I am facing a new purchase of wheels and rubber. Am actually this time around thinking about a really good quality all season tire with siping. This would effectivley give me better winter dry road traction, a higher speed rating, and for those occational (I'll be eating my post if it dumps all season long of course) snow falls.
Anyone else do this in a similar climate?
Second part, and the more important regardless of rubber, where did you buy your tire pressure transmitters, how much did they cost, can they be had cheaper? I was told it would be around $100 each - that's a hefty premium for winter tire packages.
Thanks in advance!

I'll be switching from snow tires to all-seasons this winter, but I will no longer drive the G in snow. A lot of people drive the G in the winter here on the stock all-seasons (fine) or summers (crazy). A good a/s tire should be even better.
For the pressure sensors, you can often find them used. Try the classifieds on this forum and on e-bay. They go for $170 to $250. I'll be selling a set of them when I do a tire breakdown/rotation. Just haven't got around to it yet.
