wow, good job on not taking a swing at them. Thats the kind of crap/abuse I got at the Nissan dealer. I used to tell them "Just tell me you dont want the work, but dont call me an idiot and make stuff up. Unless of course you actually believe that diagnosis, then I dont think I want you working on my car... " I burned thru alot of Nissan dealerships in my area with that I was driving 40 miles to the next closest one for awhile.

I've also driven 300 miles each way to have something done (right) at Grubbs. They didnt do the greatest job, but they didnt give me any hassle or break anything on the car.

Yep, I have an 03 G35C and I just noticed that I have the same problem too. Mine is right at the top of the hood on the passenger side. Right where the hood hinge is. Gonna take it in and see what they say. Hopefully they cover it.

No, I've just had great experience at GRUBBS and they sponsor our 400 member G35/350z club here in Texas.

Please write/email to these A$$ holes and tell them(nnaconsumeraffairs@nisson-usa.com). It took about 2 weeks for them to get back to me but they did. They did say I was the first person to report this problem. Maybe if everybody speaks up we can get them to own up to the defect in this car. Also included the letter I sent if anybody interested in reading it.

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently purchased a new 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe from Grubbs Infiniti in Bedford, Texas. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Mike Bloodworth is a very professional salesman and his knowledge on the G35 was unsurpassed. If every car salesman were like Mike consumers would love the car buying experience.

The purpose of this letter is to ask for guidance and assistance in resolving a service issue with my G35 Coupe 2004 with less than 15,000 miles. I recently took my car to Sewell Infiniti in Dallas, Texas to have the oil changed. Upon the return of my vehicle I noticed that my hood is now hitting the fenders of my car which is causing the paint to chip on the fender and the hood. In an effort to resolve this issue I scheduled an appointment with Sewell Infiniti to discuss this problem. I worked with Mario, Service Advisor for Sewell and on August 15th, 2005 took my car in to show the damage and discuss the options for repair. On August 25th Mario informed me that Sewell was not going to repair my car. The explanation given to me at that time was that I didn’t know how to raise or lower my hood. I received conflicting stories from Sewell employees, Mario stated that I lowered the hood to hard while the Service Manager stated that I raised it to high. This explanation is unacceptable to me knowing that I have worked with and on cars for many years and would not force the hood up so high that it would bend the hinges. If either of the explanations were credible I would most likely find stress fractures in the paint or creases on the aluminum hood and under the fenders where the hinges hit, this damage does not exist therefore, I am not confident in the explanation from the Service Advisor or Service Manager. My car has only been serviced by Sewell technicians and they have lifted the hood more times than I have. This is my first experience with owning an Infiniti /foreign car. I love the car and looked forward to a certain quality of work and treatment from Infiniti dealerships. In the past I have owned Ford vehicles and have never had a warranty claim rejected for issues that were clearly due to the design of the car or items that were mistakenly broken by the dealership. My car buying habits are so that I buy a new car every 5 years, in fact I recently looked at purchasing a Nissan Murano and frankly at this time I am glad I have not made that purchase yet due to the concern I have about the quality of customer service provided. I have never experienced a problem like this so I am hoping you will offer assistance and save face for Infiniti. I consider myself a car enthusiast and take my cars to shows all the time. I sure you know the value of a happy customer recommending a good car and service and how fast an unhappy customer can also let folks know about unsatisfactory service. In my opinion it’s a small price to pay to keep a new customer happy and wanting to recommend your product. The estimate Sewell has given me is $700.00 to repair the damage I sincerely thought I would be receiving a different level of service when buying an Infiniti product. At this point I am not sure of what type of service to expect but I feel that I have wasted my hard earned money on a product and company that does not care about customer satisfaction.

I am asking for your help and want to give Infiniti every possible chance to reclaim my confidence. My cell phone number is xxx.xxx.xxxx which is the best way to reach me, other ways I am reachable are xxx.xxx.xxxx (direct office line) and xxx.xxx.xxxx (home after 6pm). I sincerely hope that you can help or at least provide guidance on how to approach this situation and resolve the issues with my car. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention and response.

Regards,

I don't know what else more to offer. It seems Grubbs is doing the most they can to resolve Sewell's mistake. Grubbs Nissan has a bodyshop on site, can you see if Grubbs Infiniti can pull a string or two and get you a great deal over there?
