test drove an 04 today

Thinking of getting a g35c, test drove a 2004 g35 sport package auto today. Impressed, really want a 6mt though. The '05 has 298hp, is there a big difference in performance? Cant find many used mt's though.

Love the car!

ps: they wanted 34,991 seems a bit high maybe 2,500 too high?

Get a '05 If you can afford it. The interior is much nicer. Better material and better layout...

That price does seem very high. I wouldn't do it if I was you. Shop around, don't let a dealer dictate how much you can spend, no matter how much you love a car. It's your money, so take your time and don't rush into it.

Just noticed the performance question. They are practically the same. You could claim the 04 will pull a little harder at lower speed and 05 will do better at higher speed. They come in about the same for the 1/4 though, nothing you are gonna notice in the seat of your pants.

It is too high, I just bought a used 2004 with 7000 miles for $32.3k but I have to pay TTL since I bought it in the dealer. But I think I coulde get lower than that since I did not negotiate much.

do a search on '05s interior and '03-04, the difference is like night and day...since the '06s are coming, the '05s should be much cheaper.

The performance on the 03 04 are pretty much the same as the 05. And i dont think that the inside is that much better.

03/04 has more torque. 05 gained HP but lost torque and Brembos! 05 would be better at top speeds, but off the line the 03/04 is slightly faster.

what every you do.....hold out for th 6mt.....U don't want to be a member of the " I had an automatic....it was nice...but I traded it in for a 6mt"..club.

Yes, I am one of them.....the automatic is much smoother....the 6mt is harder edged...despite what some say...it is much faster...bembros much desired...03'-04 6mt is faster than the 05....should you find an 03-04 6mt....26k-28k...get it

or atleast buy brand new....06's are alomost here...don't pay more than 34 for an 05 6mt...let alone a used 04 auto.
