Swirl marks >:O
nasha u took it to a gas station car wash???? Those will do the trick, those scratch the F outta ur paint. NEVER EVER take ur car to a gas station car wash man. I only trust mine with hand car washes.
Ok being that my father owns a car dealership and i am trained in detailing i think i am qualified to answer this. If i was you i would go out buy your favorite product line whether it be mothers klasse pinnacle zaino and do all of the steps. and always remeber never bring your car to the car wash. we detailed an 04 mercedes about 3 weeks later customer came back with all fine scratches in the paint (black0 i said to her that she went through a car wash and she said yes i then asked her if she was the first car to ever enter that car wash she said no i said then there was a lot of dirt on those machines

use NXT techwax. it's polymer, easy to use, and super shiny, hides small swirls.
Yes, your car will look real nice and calduster is safe. I use it all the time.
No, your girl will not notice your swirls unless she's a car nut.

^^ Well said...
Personally I never get my car washed at the dealer nor at any gas stations.. i have found a place where they hand wash the car, vacum the interior, clean the windows, and apply a single coat of wax all for $30 cdn ($25 US). Every monday she get it
.... The person usually take 1.5 - 2 hours so the cost is justified in my opinion, and the car looks brand spanking new.

it's the touchless ****, i dunno how that causes swirl marks

We should get together and polish and wax our cars 8-)
well I suggest to only wash it in hand places. The dealer on SUNDAYS wash it by hand, and theres a place on dempster and harlem thats hand car wash.
Im not washing or waxing my car till I get my clear bra fixed. Hope that dude calls back today.

I been using it for a while now and will disagree with you on that 110%
We can agree to disagree then. Using one is just like dusting your car off with a shirt.
Dirt and dust is what causes swirlmarks...they are abrasive and rubbing anything over them acts as a fine sandpaper.
EDIT: No matter who you are you will get swirlmarks. Show me a car that is a couple years old with no obvious swirl marks and has been washed at least once a month.

I'll show you a guy by me who has a 1987 Grand national ...ALL ORIGINAL with 50k miles that has non what so ever.
If going by what you said, dusting is bad, then when it comes to washing cars, how do you get pass that. They even claim that if you dust it every day this will help minimize the swirls. Since less and less dirt will settle into the paint. I'm sure on some level you will put tiny lil scratches but not to the extent of the swirl mark

I call even the tiny spider web scratches swirl marks...so maybe we have a terminology barrier here. To me they are all scratches in the clear coat that happen due to normal washing. That is why I despise car covers too. They will tear up a nice looking car over time.
I've seen show cars that won first place at NOPI have swirl marks...it's not a bad thing since it happens over time. I just know that you cannot find a car that does not have them. You can hide them with Meguiars Scratch X or 1000 other products...but you cannot get rid of them easily without a buffer and some know how. Maybe that explains your GN guy.
I had a black car that I bought brand new. I found that greasy polish/wax like Meguiars Scratch X works beautifully for the first several washes...then gradually it wears off and they can be seen again. I would usually use it before shows because it worked THAT well. Just don't expect it to last without reapplying it every few washes.
