Swirl marks >:O
Swirl marks >:O
i bought my car 3 weeks ago. The dealer told me that they would wax it when they gave it to me, but 2 days after i got it, it rained and the car had water spots all over it
So i took it to a touchless car wash and when it dried off, still water spots. I assumed because it wasn't dried properly, that's why there were water spots.
Tonite i came home, and washed my car at 8pm, so it was dark out. I washed it with rain-x car wash, and shampooed (lol poo) it twice, and then i rinsed it off by using the sheet method with the hose. I the dried it with a 100% cotten towel, and then i looked at the car under my garage light and noticed these swirl marks all over the car, as well as some sticky stuff which i'm assuming was from when the dealer ships the car and that white stuff is held on the car.
Should i take it back to the dealer and demand the wax actually be done this time, as well as a polish? Or is this my own fault?

well i saw it
it's the gas station one where you just pull in and it shoots water out, then shoots soapy water, then rinse with water.
I drive out of there, and then it just get's dirty again

Swirl mars will be there no matter what. You just have to deal with it. I would say use carnuba wax or the new NXT wax from maguirs or Eagle 1. they fill some swirl marks but not all.
You will get swirl no matter what. Its just when you wash the car, all that dust that you trying to wash off will leave marks behind. Dont worry about it. Its part of life.
I dont like it either but i try to protect it as much as i can. Use california duster every day so that less and less dust accumilates on the car between washes, this way when you wash it wont scratch the paint as bad/

they come in different sizes. small is for interior and big is for exterior. they are very safe to use. it keeps from dust and other debree from depositing into your paint. I try to dust my car at least 1 per day.
I would not trust the dealer or gas station car washes. To reduce the swirl marks, use a polish made for swirls, or use Meguiars Scratch-X all over the car to fill in the swirl marks.
Also, buy some microfiber towels and wash them before use, but DO NOT use any fabric softener. Do not wash, dry or wax the car in circular motions either. Use straight strokes.

Black cars are by far the most beautiful cars from at least five feet away but are the most unattractive up close. All cars have swirls, but it's just the way black reflects light that makes them so easy to see. If it really bothers you, a detailer can buff them out by removing some of the clear coat, but I believe the best advice is to minimize them and then forget them because they are inevitable.
first claybar the entire car, remove all deposits and wax with it.
next use some ScratchX on areas with most swirls.
use NXT techwax. it's polymer, easy to use, and super shiny, hides small swirls.
Yes, your car will look real nice and calduster is safe. I use it all the time.
No, your girl will not notice your swirls unless she's a car nut.
