I use them at dusk, dawn, during rain, and when driving on two-lanes for long distance visibility.

Other than that (and at night of course) they're off.

It's definitely safer IMO. It would be nice if the G had a DRL option (here in the US) for those of us who want it (to extend bulb life).

I'm a huge proponent of DRLs. I wish my G had them. I don't turn my headlights on. I just drive with my parking lights on. You can spot those two little beady eyes from a mile away. Makes the car look evil. Plus, I love that look on corvettes.

Perhaps he was preparing for 'Flash Friday.' There is a shock jock in CA (also broadcast in WA and several other states) who declares every Friday in the summer 'Flash Friday.' He tells his male listeners to turn their headlights on during the day and asks his female listeners to flash people they see driving with their headlights on.

A friend of mine was flashed one day on I-5 so I'm sure he keeps his headlights on religiously now.

During the day I almost always drive with my lights on, but only the one where its the clearance strips and sidemarkers, since the PIAA Xtreme Whites look great shining in the day.

Mine are on for flash fridays too! I've always had them on, hoping I would get flashed my my Acura TL. But it wasn't until I got my G that I actually got flashed! Two hot chicks in a convertible. Hell yeah!

Lights on all the time. And yes, your inner housings will probably crack in 2 years of it, mine have already been replaced once. But, I'm still going to roll with them on, day or night.

This came up a few weeks ago and as I was going out for my Sunday drive in the mountains. I thought, yeah, why shorten the life of my HIDs and crack my housings again. So, I left them off. About 2 miles from the house, I was blasting down some 55mph street and somebody pulled right out in front of me. Luckily, the BFG KDW2's were hot and I was able to get it stopped in time. It was actually an amazing stop. Scared the poop out of the person that pulled out AND STOPPED when they saw me locking it up. There were cars in the other lane, it was stop or crumple.

Anyway, on the way back, I noticed it was a slightly sloping hill on gray asphalt. I just dont think they saw my silver coupe. Or lets just say it didnt register with them. Thats the main reason I leave them on, I do want to be seen as early as possible. Its also helped with people not drifting into my lane. I think they see me coming up right away.

Technically, I can see the reasoning for leaving them off. I'm not really trying to look cool or anything. Just trying to keep the G and my self wreck-free. People are really stupid out there. Every little bit helps.

i used to think it was kinda lame to have your headlights on during the day, but then i realized that there was a safety reason behind it.. people really do notice your car more if your headlights are on.. so yeah, i started doing it myself..

never heard of the flash friday thing.. but it's good to know

lots of ppl drive in the daytime with their lights on to be visible to other drivers as a safety reason.
