zenusXng if ur in so cal i'll hardwire it for you. i've done it for couple of guys on the forums.

Escort and V1 pick up the best. in the tests and reviews i've read the V1 picks up Laser and X bands BEFORE the Escort x50.. BUT the x50 picked up POP (aka radar) band before the v1.. but we're talking about differences that can be measured in ft. not miles.. so the ONLY reason i would get the V1 was if i had extra cash and wanted the arrows. The arrows are sometimes helpfull when merging onto another freeway.. if I pick up a strong KA band i'll have to look around for the cop while the V1 will tell you where it is BUT when you pick up a KA/POP/or Laser ur gona hit the brakes and drive with traffic anyways reguardless of where the arrow points.

The mount can be bought from MIKE from 350z forums go do a serach there.. its $20 w/shipping be sure to tell him if its for a x50 or v1. the hardwire kit for the x50 is $15...

install offer extends to anyone in so cal =)

I was thinking about getting the x50 but I was curious as to how you wired it up. I noticed there isnt any wires hanging around in the picture so did you have it wired into the fuse? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks
i can either stick it in the fuse box or splice it into something for u.. it runs down the A-Pillar into the fuse box and forgot where i grounded it to. I remember needing a 10mm, credit card, wirecutter/razor blade..

heres another pix from a 350z

THanks.....
Cops may have a radar detector detector, but most of the new models are supposed to be able to hide from such detectors. However, radar detectors are perfectly legal in most states.

is there such a thing? the radar detector only recieves signal it shouldnt be giving out any.. it just simply pick up bands used by the cops.. the only way a copy would be able to get around that is to use a completely different type of sensor..

Unfortunately I'm in Boston Mass, but thanks for the offer. My friend owns a TSX and he wired his up so I'll see if he can help me with mine. Thanks though.

radar detectors are legal in most states. The only problem with having a radar detector is, if you do get pulled over (laser or pop) and the cop sees the detector, he's less likely to give you a warning. In his eyes you've probably been speeding all over town and finally got caught.

Although you would think that a radar detector is purely passive and only receives signals, it actually emits well known signals while working. This signal is what is being detected. That's why certain radars advertise stealth modes.

I went with the red display since it was 40$ cheaper, which was hard to justify already, but I thought that a blue display would look out of place with the dash colors of the G being Red/Orange.

The ones sold on ebay don't come with the manufacturers warranty, are often missing serial numbers, and are sometimes refurbished or defective models. After doing some research over at http://www.radardetector.net/ I've found that a lot of people are having problems with there X50's. I wouldn't want one without a warranty.
