My issue is reaching back for the seatbelt - I'm only 5'9". Reaching back for it makes my arm feel like whoever designed by elbow and whoever designed the seatbelt weren't on the same page.

My harness actually has loosened up over the past couple of months. Even when I pull it up to the point where it clicks, the arm lowers again once I put my seatbelt on and rests on the seat. My dad's old Lexus SC400 has the same exact arm holding the seatbelt, but seems to do the job a lot better. Of course, it doesn't solve the reach issue, but in the SC, the arm doesn't rest on the seat back causing an annoying squeek/rattle. In addition, in the G, when no one is wearing the seatbelt in the passenger side, the arm places the belt buckle just where it would tap against the door. I'm assuming it would be quite a task to mod this new holder into our current seats since you'd have to install some mount under the leather, but if there were some kind of alternative similar to Infiniti's solution, I certainly wouldn't mind the inconvienience of my passengers getting in and out of the back seat once or twice a month that it actually happens.

This could be a safety issue as well. For us shorter folk(5'9"), in an accident, the shoulder harness could tighten across the neck= not good!

My seatbelt rests across my collarbone and it is uncomfortable after a long period of driving. I wish it was lower as well... and I'm 5-9.

You'd think that this car(being designed by Asian people... who tend to be genetically shorter on average than some other races), would be designed to comfortably accomodate the desires of drivers under 6-0 tall.

Nobody's tried this yet? Any idea if the '06 clip thing will work on the '05 seats?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The seats have not been changed otherwise (structurally speaking). This should just tack right on. At most, there may be a bracket in place under the seat-skin to help keep it secure.

The '06 domination continues! I can take a closer look and see how it attaches.

This would be great since the seat belt is so uncomfortable. I did buy one of those seat belt things from wal-mart that prevents neck rubbing etc, it def helps much better, but gets annoying to adjust at times. If anyone can find out if this can be converted somehow to the older years let us know!

yup, i am 5'5 and the seat belt holder helps. The only thing bad is that it wrinkles the seatbelt.

My big complaint about the seatbelts is the latch on the drivers seat bring TOO HIGH! The latch is probably two inches too high up off my right hip. Totally not right.

Anyone have any experience with putting a passenger-side seatbelt latch on the driver's seat?

Yes, and sometimes my seatbelt pops out of the holder when I take it off.

Next logical step is someone needs to find a friendly parts guy who'll help us figure out what parts are involved.

I went to the local infiniti dealer and picked one up the other day. I did a pretty clean install. I just drilled some holes in the holder, chamfered the edges of the hole and used some drywall screws to mount it to the seat. The black drywall screws blend right in with the black plastic!

It works great!
