advance timing?
advance timing?
I don't remember where I heard this, but does anyone know anything about having your timing advance?????? or something along those line. If I remember correctly it's something that u can have ur dealer do for u????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????

when you advance engine timing your setting off your spark sooner before the cylinder reaches top dead center.. if u advance it too much your gona cause pinging cause ur combustion chamber has already sparked while pistons are still trying to move up.. plus it'll just cause guys here to do something stupid and mess up their cars...
to do this right you should be tuning your car at a drag strip to get the most outta each RPM..
and no theres no tech at a dealer that'll do that for you.. i wont even tell you how to do that

I had it done at the dealer. Its standard when you buy a CAI through the dealer and its installed- they also advance the timing 2-3*, depending on what the cars computer will take. My 04.5 would only take 2* advance.
I made a post on this a few weeks ago, try to search some of the last topics started by me...the name should be something like "Dealer Advanced my Timing"
My conclusion: It does nothing.
