Glove Compartment Light Always ON?

When driving around last night, I noticed that the glove comparment light is on even when the lid is closed all the way. I can see the light through the crack of the opening. It is kind of annoying now since I keep glancing at this faint glitter of light. Does anyone know if this is normal or is my switch sensor messed up?

Always always on. I noticed it when I first bought my coupe, only since I have the seat so far back.

Solution? I bought some 1/2" think foam weather stripping with adhesive at Lowe's for a few bucks. Cut it to size (the width of the glovebox door) and secured it to the topmost dash-side of the enclosure. Blends in perfectly with the graphite dash and blocks the light emitting from the top glovebox door gap. Easy peasy and it almost looks like it belongs there if you even notice it.

No, what sux for $40K is that my parking brake squeaks as I egress from the car. Thats about my only complaint.

Oh and I ain't no fat-*** at 165lbs. There's no excuse for a squeak.

my parking brake does the same thing. even if i pull it tighter.

as far as being a 40k car and having the glove box light on, i see nothing wrong with that. that's just one less part to brake in 5 years.

...so long as I'm not the only one. I can deal with that.

BTW...the light in the storage above the glovebox remains on as well everyone.

My glove box light only comes on when I turn on the headlights. I have never notice light being emitted from the glove box at night.

Maybe it only comes on when the lights are on. I've never driven at night without the lights on so i wouldn't know. I'll have to check next time.

I had that problem. I took it into the dealer and they took a look at other Gs on thier lot and told me it was normal, so instead they layed a thin strip of color matched felt and the light was hidden again.
