I've been looking into getting a beater for a long time now. I find it hard to complain about gas prices because I knew it was going to be more expensive when I bought the car. Now I just have to convince myself that spending the money on a beater is better then spending it on mods.

I offically gave up on driving my G. i parked it nicely behind the house and have been driving my beater since monday (I have a 97 Nissan 200sx)

i get about 34mpg with it if i'm lucky but then i put 87 in it which saves me another 20c per galon. God i cant believe those prices. I'm currently in Madison WI and the price here for 93 a few minutes ago was: 3.39

I just called my friend in chicago and he said that they are up to: 3.69 there

this is INSANE !!!!!!!!!!!!

It would cost more for me to sell the G35, buy a Prius, than to just pay $20 more at the pump.

The high gas prices will just show those soccor moms in huge SUVs, who chat on cell phones while sipping their Starbucks, who take up 2 parking spots, who sit on the 405 at the 10 interchange, going 5 MPH just like all the rest of us, who bought the SUV as a status symbol rather than actually going off road, how ridiculous their vehicle is. They'll pay disproportionally higher the higher the prices go.

well my 2002 maxima doesnt get any better gas milage than my 2005 6mt and my 69 camaro with a 434 cubic inch V8 only gets about 7 miles to the gallon, So I guess I will just drive my G during the week and take the camaro out a little less on the weekends.

Just saw that picture of gas, premium 6.07 a gallon, it's in Georgia. Sick how people are profiting while all the people are suffering from Katrina.

The price of gas has gone up so much in the last couple days because of hurrican Katrina. It has cause extreme amounts of damage over New Orleans, and has slowed if not stopped the transportation of mercahndise through a key Port in New orleans. This port accounts for 1/4 of the US's oil imports per day, causing prices to shoot up.

Somone has to use this as a campaign issue. Hell, Congress spent more time talking about steroids.

i'll be taking this class at a JC for bike license in 3 weeks.. i'll be picking one up VERY soon especially since i drive 50miles there/back for school each day

thats 50 x 5 days a week = 250 for school alone another 14 there/back for work and gona take the car out on weekends too so add like 30miles to that

[(50 + 14) x 5] + 30 = one week...

Thats only 18,200 miles per year. Very reasonable if you ask me.
