HELP electrical audio experts. Need to get 2005 radio to work with 2004...

Okay so I just bought a used 2005 radio because I wanted the MP3 feature and quality wise the 2005 is far more superior than the 2004.

ALL the plugs on the back of the 2004 and 2005 headunit are the same...

As you know the volume and temp adjustment are adjusted by *****. instead of push button.

Everything works EXCEPT the most important part, there's no sound and I can't adjust the temp using the ****. I can adjust the volume and the power buttons works fine, even the steering controls work but no sound at all. Those are the ONLY two things that aren't working for me..

Do you guys know if the wiring schematics are different? I'm thinking maybe I can rearrange the wiring so i can get sound out of the radio? same with the temperature adjustment.

Please help.... if this works I can convert the 2005 headunit to blue leds

thanks..

here's a picture so you can look at something =P

The plugs may be the same, but you just made a $hit load of work for yourself because some of the signal wires have been switched up (i.e. no longer on the same harness, etc...) So itll look like its plug and play....but it really isn't. You need to get a hold of the harness schematics for the 04 and 05 because you will end up pulling some crimps/pins out and doing some rerouting. Alot of small differences occured between the 03/04 and the 05/06 wiring setups...

P.S. I replied the same in AUD forum.
