I will have to disagree with the 18s comment. Well.... I do think the 18s are more "elegant" than the 19s but the 19s, to me at least, makes the car all that much sportier looking. I think the 19s really make the car look tough, like it was meant to be driven and driven hard. The 18hp added and loss of torque was mainly done to change the character of the motor. Many ppl complained that the VQ motor didn't have a lot of "character" in that it made power everywhere and all you got was constant acceleration rather than the feeling of the motor "getting on the cam". That surge of acceleration after a set RPM. Now that may make it a tad slower (if it even is slower at all) but the only ones complaining about it are us and we are in actuality a very small percentage of the ones that have purchased this car.

The additions of the projectors in front, bluetooth, memory seats, etc for the 06 just brings it to what it should have had in the very beginning.

plus whoever said that the stock brembo is really that great? just cuz u have "brembo" dont mean its the best in their lineup... if u really want the good loooks and the performance..go aftermarket and get some real good brembos or stoptech and whatnot!

sure its nice to have brembo as stock brakes, but there are some negatives that comes with it... some peeps just really gotta get over those stock brembos!

I prefer my OEM 18's to the 19's, but I disagree with you.. The 19s are just as gorgeous as well. If Infiniti didn't have such nice looking OEM rims, I wouldnt be so hesitant to go aftermarket, but I love the way they look so I really have no desire to replace them anytime soon.

Infinitis only "mistakes" in my opinion were: Brembos should still be available, but should be OPTIONS for both ATs and MTs. (if anything, I dont understand why they were never options on the ATs, since autos actually require more braking power) and the 298hp / loss of torque was a change for the worse. I think its more impressive when a car does 0-60 in 5.5 with 280hp, than when a car does 0-60 in 5.8-9 with nearly 300hp. The added weight isnt helping either.

They were extremely problematic, wore out too fast, had too much dust, and were expensive to replace when the stockers now stop in shorter distance than the Brembo’s did? Will you be driving the car competitively? If not then the stockers are better for the street than the Brembos.

Brembos extremely problematic? You're wrong. The problems were occurring with the original OEM brakes.

I have 10,000 miles on mine and they are still perfect. Not much brake dust either. Perfect feel and response, and not a squeak of noise from them either. Of course, the OEM brakes look like crap too.

Yea then explain why they are not warrantied by Infiniti...and don't tell me cause its too expensive or because its a wearable item...because that wont explain the squeeling that has been expressed by some...especially before 10k miles...you just got lucky thats all.

Why is it there are so many posts with people complaining about the squealing and fast wear of the brembos? not much brake dust?

Your car must be an exception. I'm not wrong, youre just an excpetion, read the rest of the forum.

I agree 100%. I've owned many vehicles in my life and the OEM 19s that are on my '05 G are the best stock wheels I've ever gotten on a car. IMO they look nicer than most of the aftermarket wheels I see.

I think that some people only care about having a "name" brand on their car. "Look, I've got Brembos!"

what the hell are you guys talking about? the oem 18's looking more "elegant" than the 19's? are you out of your mind? you can't honestly tell me had they been the same price, you would have chosen the 18's over the 19's. that is stupidest reoccuring theme on this board next to the "my 04/03 is faster than your 05" and "my brembos give my car a higher value than your 05" claims made by owners who just wish they would have waited for the 05.

I have an 05 and i'm not going to live in a dream world and pretend that the 06 is a downgrade. wake up people, our cars are making improvements every year. the only people who disagree are those who are trying their hardest to convince themselves that their car is still the best thing out.

19"'s were a step forward in my opinion. If the '05 had projectors, it would've been perfect.

The only reason that I would get the 19's is either because I had no other choice or perhaps just to say that I have the 19's. They are not bad rims, but as regards styling, I and most I've spoken with prefer the 18's. No need to get upset. I bet that if the 18" style came in 19" as an option that you would see a whole lot more of those on the road.
As regards Brembo's, I don't have Brembo's but if it were cost effective and an option for the AT at the time, I would have bought Brembo's because I like te way they look. It does give the car a sportier look
I for one am not saying that the 06's (or 05'sf for that matter) are worst but just that they are going with more of a luxury appeal than a sporty appeal when at first they were focusing more on the sport aspect of it. I don't agree with the title- I don't think that it is a step backwwards but rather a lateral step as regards the 06 vs 05 (overall) but I do think that it was a slight step backward as regards the sportiness.

WHAT

How does the engine have anything to do with the exhaust's noise?
