Clutch pedal?

I just test drove a manual G35C today. I drove the auto version awhile back but I knew I'd get a manual so I wanted to see how it felt. My question to everyone is how high was your clutch pedal when you got it? The one I drove had the pedal really high that I actually had to lift my leg to move it off the pedal. It seems like it moves a whole foot when you push it down. I know they are adjustable but by how much? Not to mention all of the dead space in the pedal play. Did anyone adjust there's the minute they got it?

Re: Clutch pedal?

see .. I just posted on this..

seemingly my pedal tends to move the engagement point around SORTOF

as if its getting air in the lines
but by no means is it grinding or anything to that degree..

it seems to adapt to how your driving on that day seemingly.
never in a cut and dry fixed position

later man

Re: Clutch pedal?

Yeah, mine was rediculously high also. I thought I would get used to it, but after a few weeks I just got to get my open wrench and adjusted it to my liking.

Re: Clutch pedal?

limanb, let me understand what you're adjusting. you adjusted the height of the pedal, right? not the height of the point where the clutch actually engages. it could be, however, that by adjusting the overall length of the pedal travel, you've shortened the point where the clutch engages (meaning, it engages closer to the firewall)---is that the case?

clutches from yester-tech had an actual "free play" at the very top of about 3/4" to 1"--feels completely different than pushing in clutch pedal along its normal path. then, the clutch engagement actually took place about 1/3 of the total distance from the firewall/floor. I haven't seen either mentioned in years.

thanks for the post.

Re: Clutch pedal?

Yea Limanb, exactly what were you able to adjust? I asked them to adjust my pedal at the dealership and they told me it can't be done cuz it's hydraulic. I just want to lower the pedal height. I can live with the engagement point, although I prefer closer to the firewall. The clutch pedal really should never be higher than the brake pedal IMO. If you were able to adjust the height please enlighten us. I have yet to look underneath to see but I might do that soon.

Maybe this will help, only problem is they don't tell you how to adjust.
