New Owner of a desert platium coupe
New Owner of a desert platium coupe
I finally bought it. Desert platium coupe with the 4 pcs aero kit 18" wheel, premium package. It is a SUPER CAR AND I MEAN IT'S "AWESOME". I WAITED EVER SINCE LAST JULY WAITING AND WAITING, PROCRASTINATING AND PROCRASTINATING, WELL I FINALLY BOUGHT ONE AND NOW I'M SO AFRAID THAT I WOULD ATTRACT TOO MUCH ATTENTION, I ALSO AFRAID THAT IT WOULD GET SCRATCHES. MAYBE IN A YEAR THEN I WOULDN'T WORRY AS MUCH. I'M CHEAP AND ITS AGAINST MY RELIGION TO BUY MSRP BUT THIS CAR IS WORTH AT LEAST $40,000 + AND LOOKS ARE WORTH AT LEAST $50,000+. I WISH ALL G-COUPE OWNERS HAPPY MOTORING AS I CERTAINLY WILL.
Re: New Owner of a desert platium coupe
Congrats on your purchase of a great car in a great color...looks like champagne in the sun and silver in the shade. It also hides dirt/dust really well. Did you order your car or buy one off the lot? I've never seen any other Desert Platinum Coupes on the dealer lots near me in Northern California. I chose Desert Platinum after seeing it on sedan.

Happy ownership, Logical!
This will be my first brand-new car purchase. I thought anyone who bought a new car only to have it immediately depreciate was a fool. Then I learned about this car and thought, anyone who doesn't get it any way any how is a fool.

Hi to logical. I agree with shelleycat and the other posters. It is a great car and it is also very hard to not "drive a good deal". But sometimes....
I'm a Platinum driver, too. All the colors are pretty darned nice. But I saw a lineup of graphite, silver, white, and platinum in a row (all committed to other owners, of course), and picked the platinum.
One errant thought I'll share with you that I've occasionally read in the various forums: sometimes I drive with my windows down and everything off just to listen to the exhaust note. And, like a couple of posters, I'm having a hard time justifying getting a new, freer flowing exhaust system. But I probably will. Maybe. I think.
Enjoy your ride!

Re: New Owner of a desert platium coupe
Thank you all. I have had this amazing car for about 3 days now and it is "AWESOME". I feel like I'm driving a $60,000 or a $70,000 car. Everyone is looking and of course occasionally I get BMW, Honda and even mercedes fix ups wanting to race. I'm now in my late 20's so I'm not as easily tempted as when I was younger, but the urges and temptions are so great that I feel just like flooring my baby and taking off.
I actually have my heart set on "SILVER, SILVER, SILVER". So while I was waiting for my saleman to pull the car out from their storage lot about 30 minutes away"the deal was already done and of course it's MSRP at $34650, Leather and premium, and Sat radio" also it's the only silver one they have in a dealership in a 100 miles radius, and also two buyers waiting for me to change my mind. But, I waited too long for a silver to give it up this easily, while I was standing outside the dealer lot, there was their premier car on a elevated rack it was the best looking G35C "GT" look, with everything including 4 pcs aero kit, spoiler, 18" rims, sat radio MSRP at $36,650 and for some reason I'm looking at it and it begins to grow on me, a hour later my salesman is still not back. So I went in to talk to the Sales manager. The difference for 5 years buy was only $30.00 per month and the Sales manager even gave me $100.00 off MSRP, that is going to clear corner lens. Well believe it or not Silver is my 1 and only choice and gold or champine would of been my last choice and I bought the Desert Platium, "SO NO REGRETS" BECAUSE THIS COLOR IS SO AWESOME, YES, UNDER THE SUN IT'S PLATIUM GOLD AND UNDER THE SHADE OR AT NIGHT IT'S SILVER.
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SO PATIENCE WITH ME. THIS WAS NOT THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO DESCRIBE MY FELLINGS BUT I TRIED MY BEST.
