I don't understand. I was at my friends house yesterday and I was checking out the wheels/tires on his M3. The tires were 255 opposed to our 245's. Only 10 mm wider right? I'm not sure if it works that way but anyways they look a lot wide than our 245's. If the diff. is only 3/8" why do they look so much wider?

I wasn't looking at mine and his at the same time so it may have been a preception thing. But individually, his look more than just 3/8" wider. I will check again tonight.

The M3 wheels are oem 18's

Actually M3 19" are 9.5" in the back, only OEM 18" on the M are 9" wide

I like both the 18" and 19", and I wouldn't pick one over the other just because it's cool to have 19". But the 18" are 8" wide and weigh a whopping 25lbs for pete's sake.

No, the 255's do give the M3 a wider stance even though they're only 10mm wider. A lot of people don't understand how offsets work. That's why I see people on here who spent 4-5 grand on aftermarket wheels that are tucked under the rear fenders instead of being flush with them OEM 19" offset on the G is 33mm, OEM 19" offset on the M3 is only 27mm, hence (partially) the difference in appearance.

BMI did a video on 18s vs 19s on the 350Z on Tsukuba. The result was that the 19s equipt 350Z was faster around the track, however the driver said that it made the handling much more sensitive. He expect amature drivers to actually get slower times with the 19s. So im guessing for normal people like us, 18s are better for performance driving. As far as looks goes, 19 definetly looks better to me. As far as cost goes, 19s sucks big hairy donkey *****.

KAHBOOM, I assume you are talking about the new 350Z Anniversary edition wheels - (the one that looks like RX-8 wheels) Look up the specs, those are cast wheels and weight more than the G35 19" wheels. IMHO, the stock 19" are very sporty, but the 18" fits the smooth lines of the G35c better.

OEM 19"s are hard to beat in terms of price, performance and styling IMO. One the other hand, stock 18" matches the lines of the car better than the stock 19".
I'm talking bout the wheels on the new track edition- I'll post pics.

There is an even better pic of these in the newest edition of SportZ Magazine

the polll isn't to try to be as comprhensive as possible, it's mostly a debate between the 18s and 19s.

19's are sooo fuc*in ugly that I would pay extra for my 18's. If the two designs were the same sizes, I bet more people will choose the style of the 18's over 19's. Besides, 19's looks smaller than its size due to its design. I didn't even consider getting 19's so I searched my way to get the performance package. People who think 19's are better looking are probably the people who buys their clothes at JC Pennys and places like that.

That's an American way of thinking huh? Bigger the better. Quantity than quality. Not for me.
