$776 for 30k mile service. Did I get ripped off??
You got ripped big time. Check your literature you received with the car. I recd a Service cost summary sheet. 30k is 279.95. The most expensive is 60k @ 329.95. My dealer always charges less than what is posted.
Wow I actually said "What the f*ck" when I read the title of this thread. My 30K was $280, and I didn't have any vague anamolous items on my list of fixes like "clean antenna mast", whatever that is. I suggest going over the list and doing what you can yourself for the 60k, or get another dealership to do it. $700+ for the 30k is downright outrageous.
He didn't necessarily get ripped off because the dealer may have performed "optional recommended" services. The basic 30K service will include a basic laundary list of services and the cost will be around $500. However, there are other Dealer "recommended" services that may be applied which are not included in the basic Infiniti C service. Here are some examples: fuel injection flush - $99.95; tansmission flush - $149.95; decarb throttle body service - $119.95; A/C evaporator service - $99.95; cooling system flush - $139.95; transmission flush - $99.95; power steering flush - $109. 95; and brake flush - $109.95.
When you go into the Dealer like a lamb and request that the 30K service be performed, you will more than likely be slaughtered. Notice all of the optional flushes. They should more aptly be called wallet flushes. So it's imperative that you tell the Dealer what you want done when you have your car serviced. About ten years ago a Dealer tried to charge me a couple of hundred dollars for a couple of "needed" flushes. I saw the Service Manager and he immediately removed the charges for the service. Why? Because I didn't authorize it, and on my service order it clearly stated that the customer must authorize any additional services not specified on the order.
My recommendation is that you find a good independent service Dealer, and let him do your routine service work. You'll save at least 70% in maintenance fees. You've got to keep all receipts for your service in order to prove to Infiniti that you've maintained your car according to their recommendations in case you need warranty work performed.

or do it yourself because those aren't that hard to do. Just takes some time and patience.
If you think changing fluids is hard then I don't know what hard is. I spent a lil less then 2 days last weekend swapping engines in my 240sx so yeah...

I learned early they charge 2-3 times as much to cover overhead & "free loaner".
My dealer only has a few techs on hand, so appointments are spaced out, & being I only have warranty work done now, they can't give me a loaner for a "couple weeks". They do not refuse, me but I think they give "cash customers" preference. I do as much myself. Let them replace wiper blades once & they were of such poor quality I had to buy my own. Will replace my own brakes soon so I'm sure of what I'm getting, also oil & filters.

You got screwed, plain and simple.
My old car (TTZ) 60k service is cheaper or around the same price. That include replacing the timing belt, water pump, cam seals, gaskets, thermostat, etc, etc...along with the other items mentioned for your 30k. It is too late now. However, I would go over every item with them and see if they actually did it. If they didn't, ask for a refund. Also, mention to them that they have BS stuff listed. That may not be intentional, but definitely misleading. They might have a generic check list for all vehicles. Some things may or may not apply...like the antenna mast and fuel filter.

I'm sooo done with dealers. I went for my 15k and they wanted to charge me $465. Went to my local guy (granted it's someone I really trust), did everything on the premium maintenance list. Charged me $115.

Besides, the owners manual explicitely says you do not have to go to an Infiniti Authorized dealer to perform your maintence work. (It only recommends it) It even says you can do it yourself. With that being the case, you wouldn't have any receipts for the work done. Thus, receipts cannot be used to prove maintence was done in the first place.
Now I'm not saying that you don't need to do any maintenence, I'm just saying don't let the dealer bully you around, if they try to deny you warranty coverage because you didn't have an Infiniti Dealer service your car, or can't provide any receipts of such work. I've had acura try that on me and fail
