I was wondering who owns a 2nd car on this board?
I can't wait untill fall when I'll have enough money to buy myself a good beater for winter and for all thoes situations when I don't feel comfortable driving my G coupe.
Almost every week there is some place where I don't like to drive my G: Movies(don't want it stolen), camping, fishing, a few places downtown where cars get stolen alot, etc.

I didn't sell my previous car and I'm keeping it around as a second car, although I wouldn't call it a beater. It's a loaded 1997 Mercedes Benz E320 with Eibach springs and shocks and 17" OZ Racing wheels sporting Bridgestone S-03 tires. It handles quite nicely with the upgrades, but I wanted more power and a stick shift, which I definitely get in my G! I haven't owned a manual for 10 years...the length of my marrige. My previous car was a 1994 Toyota Corolla. It has over 150,000 miles.
I kept the car for the exact same situations you listed above. Anywhere I have to leave my car unattended for long periods of time I'll take the 105 hp Corolla.

My "beater" is an altima 3.5SE, which to this day I still swear "feels" stronger than my g35c. I've got 20K miles on the altima and only 2K on the coupe, so I'm hoping it'll develop some more power.

drsifu1.....I got a 94 Corolla too with about 150,000 miles. Still drive it during the weekdays. Drive the G on the weekends. Love my corolla. It's really reliable. I save a lot more money on gas since it would only take me a full tank, and some change to get me through the week on the Corolla. Rather than spending a grip for a full tank on the G.

The G35C is my beater! Well, not a beater, but it is my daily driver. My Z06 is the weekend toy that gets the garage.

Same here, my G is the dailydriver. My NSX is the weekend warrior. (Funny though, since I got my G, the NSX hardly comes out on the weekends.... )

Kept my '95 altima when I got the G. It runs perfect and isn't worth anything to sell (lousy nissan resale value). I only drive the G on weekends. With the cost of tires and brakes, I want to keep my G low mileage. It also saves big insurance $ if you're G is not your primary car. I also take the Altima to places where I'm unsure of the parking situation or when I know I have to use Valet parking.

1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager! Use it about two or three days aweek to go to work. Gets me there and back.

Here's mine...
My "beater" on the right

It's handy because of it's huge trunk and the ability to carry a couple extra people in a bit more comfort...
Actually thinking of selling it...Anybody interested?

volkracing: Very nice pic.
I'll probably buy a 97-98 protege in september or maybe october if I don't have enough money. Next year I'll be renting a 2004 car(altima, Mazda 6, etc.) for winter, everyday driving/stop and go traffic so that I can use my G only on weekends and to go out a few nights during the week.

My second car is a 96 Impala SS. Wanted to keep it around for something different to drive, but the G35 is so much fun that I don't drive it any longer. It sits in the garage collecting dust
