Cant make up my mind!

Man, I was dead set on getting an 06 coupe for the last 8 months. I didnt even research other sport coupes mainly since I thought I was maxing out my budget at 40K. Last week my dad said he wouldnt have a problem with me getting it up to 55K. SO now I am looking at the M3, and I think I can get one the way I want at about 55 to 56K. But since that was still at the outer limits of my budget it got me thinking about the 06 vette ( which now comes with an 6 speed paddle shift auto ) which I think I can swing for under 50K!! This whole situation has me going crazy cuz each car looks has its selling points. Can anyone give me personal experiences with the vette or m3 and maybe help me make this decision a little easier?? I give performance a slight nod over comfort btw. And I am looking for useful advice, please dont trash the other two cars just cuz you have a g35 since that doesnt help me at all. Thanks in advance.

bmw's today have poor reliability compared to the infiniti, but teh M3 is a FINE car. i wish u luck in getting an 06 vette for under 50k, they're selling off the shelf, but again, its unreliable.

ur hearing it from a g35 driver though, so of course im biased. Both cars are by all means faster. If i were u i would stick with the g35 n pocket the money, or go with the M3, but get the competition package, its sick.

Honestly I have been on othr m3 forums and I have yet to see as many niggling problems like the one that plague the g35 ( tranny, rear axle, windows, sunroof, seats, vdc sensor etc ) plus bmw include full maintence for 4 years and I know I will get an extended warranty. Havent really looked at the vette's reliability, but are you speaking from experience or hearsay? I know my mustang GT has given me far less problems than my mom's civic gave, and japs are supposed to be a whole lot more reliable. And the 06 vettes havent hit the lots yet, and I am not talking z06 so I am not sure if they are really flying off the lots yet...

The comp packge is def out for me. It gives me M track mode, better brakes, and wheels etc and I know I wont ever track it. It takes away cruise and steering controls, which I know I would use everyday. If i get the m3, I will just get the comp package wheels by themselves.

That would be a tough choice. I'm choosing the G35 over the Vette because I won't settle for less than the Z06 and I can't justify buying that car right now. The C6 Vette definately isn't unreliable and I think the M3s have gotten a lot better in the last two years. The G35 is just sexy, luxury, and performance all in one for a good price. In the higher price range, I'd pick the Vette over the M3 for many reasons. Looks, performance (although pretty close), the rumble of a V8, and I'm a GM guy and love my American Muscle. I definately wouldn't mind having an M3 either (and probably will some day), but it just wouldn't be my first choice.

Well as far as the performance to $ ratio, you prob can't beat a used vette z06.

New, personally, I would go with a BMW M3. You're just getting a better overall car.
