Does anyone know how to turn on the passenger airbag?

I recently went on a road trip with my girlfriend and she called to my attention that the passenger side airbag was turned off. The car is a 2005 G35 coupe, and the airbag must have been turned off by default, I am the original owner. After checking the owners manual, I could not find how to activate the passenger airbag. I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn it on??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

I think there's a sensor in the passenger seat. Perhaps that needs replacement or it somehow got disconnected. Sounds like a warranty problem. I don't know of any method to manually turn it on.

No manual method that I'm aware of - it's activated by a pressure sensor in the seat.

Tell your girlfriend to get a meal. LOL..

I had this problem too with my passenger, but he was sitting too comfortably in the seat (leaning all the way down into the seat). As soon as he sat more appropriately, the airbag came back on. I'm not sure but maybe it has something to do with the active headrest or something.

thanks everyone for your help. My girlfriend is a very small girl, but she is still full grown, I would hope she ought to be heavy enough to trigger the sensor. I am worried about this for her own safety. I do not drive unsafe, especially with her in the car, but I would like to make sure she has every safety mechanism in place in the event of an accident. Does anyone know what the weight limit is?? Thanks again everyone!

Turn the car on and sit in the passenger side...if it goes off..then obviously your girl weighs under the amount the sensor is set to. In that case, it may be safer that it is turned off since it is designed to prevent injury to children who sit there...

Exact same thing when my gf sits in the car too. Everytime it happens i just show her that it's off and laugh, all while she gets pissed off knowing she's not fully protected. She's also a light girl, but weighs enough (107 lbs) I think. I'll definitely probably have the dealer take a look at it, since I'm going to get an oil change anyways.
