If the make a coupe I will have to consider also. I am waiting for 07 to see what the new G brings. Here is a qoute from Car and driver (www.caranddriver.com) "It also has 306 ponies from an all-new 3.5-liter V-6, enough to make 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and sear your quarter-mile in 13.7 seconds at 104 mph with a few flicks of the steering-wheel paddles controlling the six-speed automatic. Every other car here sucks its dust. Welcome to the most exuberant Lexus ever built."

^That has been the complaint that I've read the most as well. The electronic nanny kills the fun.
This is a serious gripe for me, as I always turn off the VDC when starting the car. If the G's system couldn't be turned off, I'd be having buyer's remorse pretty frequently.
And the black IS coupe posted does look good. Unfortunately, I've seen the exact same pic featuring a black sedan. Nice PS skills, but I still need to see what Lexus comes up with before I know if the coupe is something to covet.
And considering the new IS should be a direct competitor with the G, it would only make sense to offer a coupe with distinctive styling, instead of a 2-door sedan. Toyota has done so with the Camry/Solara for some years now, so it's not far-fetched.
